Park
Lake Erie's only state park offers 1 mile of lakeshore with campsites plus wildlife walks & hiking.
Don't let the smoke stacks cloud your judgment of this park. It has so much to offer!Miles of scenic trails for birdwatching, running, walking and biking. The trails I hear will be getting some much needed work to ensure a safe and smooth trek. There are many fishing piers and access points to kayak the waters in and around the park. For Boat Nerds, you can watch great lake freighters out on the horizon. If you're lucky, you may see them pulling into the River Raisin just south of the park. The sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous and beautiful and the pops of color are amazing. If I have on complaint, it's the human factor on the Beach. Please don't litter. There are many garbage receptacles. We can do better.

I really wanted to show my brother at least one of the Great Lakes for his bday. Lake Erie is the closest to us. We grabbed some food and went to the closest park with a beach. When we showed up we were stunned to see how big the park was. Lots and lots of parking! They have rental cabins, camping, day visiting, and a boat ramp! The water was calm and clear. We enjoyed hours of walking up and down the shore. It’s a beautiful spot to have a picnic, walk your dogs, read a book, etc. I’ve already been back with friends and my husband. We’ve all enjoyed it every time! I recommend stopping!

The park is spacious, plenty of area to explore. Large parking area. Plenty of bathrooms. Pavilions with picnic tables and grill areas. Large beach front, great for swimming and a peir I saw people fishing off of although it's a bit rocky on that end, much more rugged, not for small kids.I was thrilled to find some neat fish bones, shells and beach glass and a little baby turtle!

Good for family outing, there are several trails for hiking and biking, park includes campgrounds and access to beach and boat docks. Park is well maintained and there are clean bathrooms. This is a 4 rating as the cost for entry is 11 dollars, if you are planning to visit multiple times then get the annual pass.

My kids and I love going to our state park 😁 it's really nice, usually clean 😄 my girls love swimming and the park they offer. They have a great walking trail as well. Oh yes can't forget their campground. Plan on camping beginning of October here

Wow, what a hidden gem! This state park is truly a treasure. And, of course, no visit to this park is complete without a visit to the legendary Pee Log. This iconic log has become a beloved landmark for both tourists and locals alike, and it's easy to see why. It's the perfect spot to take a quick break and leave your mark (literally!). Overall, I highly recommend this state park to anyone looking to connect with nature and experience something truly special.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Monroe. The beach has really been cleaned up (compared to what it was in the past so I've heard)There are trails for walking, there are docks for fishing with the kids, there's a playground, there's a full campground, there's a boat launch I can launch my swing keel sailboat.

We had a blast..Only an hour from home and felt like heaven..we camp d there for 4 days..Clean.quiet.beautiful beach.huge campsites with big fire pits.. a lot of space for games and picnics we will definitely be back..

We stayed here in our skoolie for two weeks and it's been one of our best stays to date! First off, the beach!! You're so close and there's a private area just for the campground which was never busy and was close enough that the kids could just walk over there whenever they wanted. There's also a trail that was really nice. Clean bathrooms and showers. Can't wait to go back here
Moshe S — Google review
The water isn't near as clear as Lake Michigan, but it was a lot warmer. Great spot to watch the sun rise. The campground is dog friendly, but the beach is not.
Sarah W — Google review
Really nice public boat launch, multiple restrooms, campground area, dog friendly, 2 major lakes, bike and walking trails, separate waste disposal area for campers, fishing dock in the back near the campground, and a canoe launch area. Requires a Michigan recreational pass sticker to enter the park. Stickers can also be purchased at the main gate. Very close to a nuclear power plant, you can see the twin stacks nearby. Overall, well kept and a safe park. Everyone that we ran into (guests, park rangers with guns, and staff) were really friendly!

This is a great park. Clean beach, we haven't seen it too crowded yet. We found some pretty cool rocks on the shore.

Enjoyed staying here. Nice big beach. Roomy campsites. Bring a means for shade if it's hot. Trees are small.

We've stayed at this campground twice now. We really enjoy staying here as nothing beats waking up on any great lake. Bathrooms were clean, beach was clean, campsite was clean.

Nice park and beachNo alcohol. No pets on the beach but let's on leash are allowed nearby. No showers at beach but you can walk a ways to the campground for showers. There was a food truck there, not sure the schedule. Nice trails. Well maintained.

Came here on a eim bc we were staying at a hotel in Monroe for the weekend for a girl's trip and came across this beach. The sand is a little sea-shelly but not terrible. Water was actually decently warm and there were plenty of areas for people to set up and benches for picnics and bbqs. Was definitely a nice relaxing spot for us to hang out for the morning/early afternoon on a Saturday. There are ants in the grass, possibly even fire ants bc where we were laying out towels I ended up getting bit 3 times and they were on fire!!! So I suggest sitting in the Sand area or on chairs to stay away from the ants/bugs. It also sucks that 2 different factories of some sort are on either side and you can see all the smoke/fumes coming from them and I'm sure that's not good for our environment 🤣 but for just the day it was perfect!! It was 11$ per car to get in. They also have camping and trails but we didn't do any of that.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay this past week. Campground is kept in very nice shape by a caring staff and hosts. Washrooms were always clean. Nice trails to walk and ride bikes on. Beach is excellent. We plan on camping there again soon!

Sterling State Park is a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park offers beautiful, well-maintained trails perfect for hiking and biking, along with stunning views of Lake Erie. The beach area is clean, making it an excellent spot for a relaxing day by the water. The camping facilities are top-notch, with spacious sites and modern amenities. Wildlife is abundant, adding to the park's natural charm. Whether you're looking to explore nature or simply unwind, Sterling State Park is a great choice for a day trip or a weekend getaway.

Very nice park stopped just for the night. Nice walking trails. Beach also looks nice. The only thing was that our spot wasn't mowed, and the grass was pretty long. Need to come back when it's summer weather to enjoy the beach.

River Raisin National Battlefield Park

Battle site
Museum
National park preserving the historical site of pivotal battles during the War of 1812.
The park facility is relatively new and quite impressive. There is a very well done 25 minute movie on the earlier events and battles at River Raisin. There are several displays at the Visitor center, huge diorama of Frenchtown , and a gift shop. There are paths outside to tour the battlefield with historical markers. Overall gained a great understanding and appreciation of what happened here and overall northwest frontier. Need to mention that the ranger at the Visitors Center - Tony - was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable.

We made a point in visiting here over Memorial Day weekend, seemed appropriate. It’s a beautiful place to learn about the battle during 1813 on all the bronze placards along the short walking loop, and the beautiful stone engraved benches. Coming up from Kentucky, we had no idea that Kentucky volunteers fought here alongside the townsfolk and many lost their lives doing so. The trails around the battlefield, are a great walk in beautiful early summer weather. You feel the history, as you walk. Highly recommend the trails. We did not go to the Museum however, as it isn’t dog friendly. We have 1 recommendation however, waste cans…we are responsible pet owners that had no place to put the poo bag 🥴, made car a bit smelly until we got to a trash bin.

One of the newest parks in the Park Service. They are working hard to create a state of the art facility. When the educational center is up and running it will be a fantastic field trip for schools and other groups looking for a hands on experience.

In Monroe, MI there is a national park that commemorates the War of 1812, a forgotten war in American history! Several battles that took place in January of 1813 in Monroe and Wayne county. A picturesque park with nice views, benches, walking paths and BBQs! Come spend a nice afternoon at this Michigan National Park!

Really nice national park battlefield with a great trail to walk around on. I recommend going down the main Street stretch of Monroe to get the whole tour of the battle of River Raisin! Staff was helpful and friendly as well!

surprisingly good place. there is a 20 minute or so film that is a must see. it explains more about the war of 1812 that I needed to know. the diorama was good, the staff was wonderful, particularly the gentleman that also was in the film. good stop.

This park is attached to The sidewalk from RR battlefield park so not sure if they are actually related to each other. Grandson had a great time and the building looked like it would be very interesting. Another day we will go inside!

We took our 11 year grandson here as part of his Michigan History study. The visitor's center is very well done and informative. He was quite impressed with the gun display. The video presentation was well done.We did a short loop of the actual battle fields. It was less than satisfying. More like walking in the fields at home except for the occasional bench. It is well worth a stop to the visitor center. I'll let you determine whether walking in fields within an industrial park is worth your time.

Nice museum at the visiter center with film. A lot of plaques describing a battle of the war of 1812. Describes a massacre of the Indians libing in the area.

Had the pleasure of getting a tour and see some behind the scenes things going on at the RRNBP! They have done an amazing job with this place: floor map, exhibits, theater, interactive things for kids, authentic displays and more! Definitely recommend! Great gem for the City of Monroe! P.S ace throwing only available for businesses, but they are working on making it available to public
Kris H — Google review
They've done an amazing job with this place - I haven't been in a LONG time, not since a school field trip maybe 20 years ago. The new visitor center is stunning and the movie that they show about the history of the site and the area is INCREDIBLE. The staff were all super friendly and fun to talk to.
Nicole M — Google review
The staff is kind and knowledgeable with the local history. Exhibits are great (what is up so far), and I'm looking forward to seeing this place when fully completed. Would give five stars, but they're frequently closed in the main area after periods of work even though it doesn't present a hazard and there's nobody actively working.

In my quest to visit all the National Parks (historic sites, battlefields, trails, and more) I happened upon River Raisin on a quite rainy and chilly afternoon. While being the only visitor when I arrived, the park staff were very helpful and willing to ensure my experience was a great one. They cued up a video (another group wandered in by this time) to cover the history.Afterward, I still felt like exploring the area, despite the rain, and I was given a few paper maps that I supplemented with the free NPS app (which I highly recommend you download). This pointed me towards some cool historic sites also maintained by the NPS and offered me a glimpse into the past of the historical events that took place in this area.
Nick L — Google review
A very nice visitor center for the history enthusiast. A well made documentary movie about the River Raisins place in the war of 1812 is shown in a theater. The Native American role in the battle of River Rasin is well described.
Stu V — Google review
Wasn't sure what to expect. Knew a little about the battle and War of 1812 before we went but learned a lot while there. This battle played a large role in the war and the United States native American policies for years to come. It's extremely interesting. The free movie explains the battle and its aftermath. I say free because you used to have to pay, but now it is being funded by the Oklahoma Wyandotte. Museum is well put together with many interactive displays and many more to come. Definately worth a visit. Besides the museum, you can also walk the grounds where the battle toook place and read several markers explains what happened. Will go back, hopefully, in January or February when the reenactment takes place.

Caught this place on our way through Michigan. Super fascinating!! Thank you to Mary Minney for doing such a great job at telling us the history of River Raisin! Check out the pics of the diorama!! The detail is amazing!¡
Jay D — Google review
We were really impressed by the set up. Very informative, they were just setting up the new exhibit when we were there, but it was really nice so far, so many interactive things for all ages, my 20 year old son just loved it. The people there were great too, answering questions and explaining displays. Nice gift shop with reasonable prices, a few snacks and drinks too...and a squished penny machine!! I collect, so super excited about that. Clean bathrooms. We happened to go when they were having demonstrations outside with people dressed in period clothes and very friendly and informative. They had axe throwing, my son did much better than myself. All free too! Large parking lot. easy to find right off the highway. Our family had a great time and will definitely be back for the reenactments and to walk the battlefield, I understand there is a marked trail with information plaques but we didn't get a chance to check that out yet.

We went out on a charter with your service on 09/17/2023 with Captain Ben Genzman. We had a great time and Captain Ben was so knowledgeable about the lake and the fishing. I will definitely be back and will highly recommend Captain Ben to anyone who wants to catch fish and have a great trip!

Booked a short executive 1 night and 1 day trip for yellow perch, relatively last minute, for a group of 6. Bob worked to find us a captain and secured the services of Captain Randy. Working with Bob was excellent. 10/10.Lodging was fantastic, everything you could need was provided and was very clean. The quality of the lodges, pricing, quality, and convenience are absolutely 10/10.Captain Randy. Super nice guy, very helpful and patient with some new anglers on board. Helped everyone rig up, teach people how to fish for perch, explained a whole lot. We had a pretty solid day catching some really big, and really small, perch. The weather got a bit warm so the bite wasn't as good as it could have been, but we still landed over 20lbs and had a great time. The only regret I have is not having more cash on hand for a massive tip. I couldn't recommend Randy's services enough, we'll be requesting him by name on repeat visits. Absolute 20/10.

Me and 5 other guys booked a 3 night stay and 2 day executive walleye fishing trip with sea breeze charters. Captain Mike R. Was our captain for the 2 days of fishing. Capt Mike was on em! We all caught walleye and had a multi species bag at the end of each day. He was very informative and answered every question we would throw at him. He worked hard and laughed harder with the group. Anybody looking to book a trip I highly recommend capt. Mike R. Boat 24

We booked a 2 day fishing trip with Captain Kevin Whaley and it was great !! Kevin is a great Captain with lots of knowledge in the sport of fishing. He taught our group how to operate the setup for trolling. We caught tons of fish and we all had a blast. The smiles on the kids faces was PRICELESS. We will be back again

Captain Kris was hands down the best captain we are yet to have while doing a charter with sea breeze charters. He put us directly on the fish and we limited out in afew short hours in mid April which doesn’t happen often! Kris definitely receives a five start review from my group. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great 2 day trip with Captain Tom Cat. Definitely put us on the fish as we brought home 30 pounds of walleye filets between 4 of us. Great lodging and Captain Tom made each day fun and productive. A great time for 4 old navy buddies getting together after .over 25 years. Will definitely be making this an annual get together with the Sea Breeze crew

Went two days. First day had Brice as our Captain, he did not disappoint. Extremely knowledgeable and just a nice easy going guy! Second day we were with Robert, our go-to-Captain. Highly recommend both of them. Limited out both days and came home with a cooler full of walleye. Signed, Girls Gone Fishing (and our two guys!)

Brought my two daughters with me for a group fishing trip. We had a 3 night stay at the lodging with two days of fishing. We all had a great time and a great stay. I took 5 people with me on this adventure. I had heard about lake Erie walleye fishing from my dad. We where all excited to catch fish, like that meaning many at a time. I and my group all had a great time. We all knew how to fish, but not at such a pace. We had captain Tom Cat, he was awesome, just the right person for a bunch of guys. We just about limited out our first day, and did the second day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I will go back soon. Everyone that came with is still talking about it.

Captain Mike was great. Would recommend using him. He was very thorough with showing us how to set up and we were pulling in walleye so quick we couldn’t keep up!!

Kris did an awesome job, we got our limit and we had 4 first timers on the boat. With the three boys having an amazing day, memories for life. I hope to fish with Kris again someday. 5 stars for sure.

Captain Tom was amazing, my husband and I with my 15 year old daughter took a private fishing charter. Captain Tom taught and allowed my daughter and myself all the techniques we needed to catch a ton of fish. We definitely had a blast and will be returning with Captain Tom. He was very patient with my daughter teaching her how to set the lines, alternate the poles and bring the fish in. She was so excited, along with my husband and my self. Captain Tom definitely knows the best spots to fish

Went out with captain Kevin and had a great time. My dad came from puerto rico to visit and I took him on his first walleye charter. He ended up catching the biggest one at 25 inches. I have been on a couple other ones and this was by far the best trip I've had. Capt Kevin showed us alot and went above and beyond. He was very knowledgeable and I definitely will be booking through sea breeze again.

Had an amazing trip! Both captains, Ron and Barry were great! They had us on the fish immediately. Accommodations were good too. Beds were small but very clean. Can't wait to go again!

We had an evening trip and a morning trip the following day with Captain Kris for walleye . We limited out on the evening trip . On the morning trip it was a tough start due to high winds and rain overnight. We still ended up the 23 fish ( which is 7 away from limiting out ) . Captain Kris worked his tail off getting us on the fish . I would highly recommend Sea Breeze Charters and Captain Kris .

Fifth Third Field is a 9,000-capacity stadium in downtown Toledo that is home to the Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball team. The stadium offers great game-viewing from the Roost terrace and has been praised as one of the best in the American lower leagues.
Amazing views on any seat. Games are enjoyable, food and drinks are priced a little more expensive than you would usually see outside of the stadium, bathrooms and stores and food+drink booths are easy to locate. Bathrooms are nice and clean and the staff are friendly.

Winterfest!! We attended my sons hockey game and the Red Wings vs Toledo Storm/Golddiggers alumni game. Viewing from the first tier is questionable. The boards are so high that you don't really see the whole action, but you can always watch the game on the big screen which is very good coverage. We were on the second tier and the view was great. They have concession upstairs as well.

What a great family outing in Toledo! Expect to spend $5 each for pop, Nathan's hotdogs, and popcorn. The games and t-shirt giveaways are great for children! Plenty of foul and thrown baseballs to make you child's day! People are friendly and staff is helpful. I highly recommend you grab the family and head out to see the Mudhens play!

We love this place! Fun atmosphere, small enough to easily walk all the way around, handicap friendly, nice staff, good food and a wide variety of food items. I got a hot pretzel which was literally too hot to eat! Hubby got a hotdogs and again it was too hot to bite into which meant it was still super hot when we got to our seats! =) Pop was cold too.

Love this stadium and the experience. This is definitely a kid oriented place. We go a lot and sit everywhere in there. There’s not a bad seat in the house. And for the price, it’s even better. I love that you’re so close to the field. And my little gets her mitt or ball signed before the game almost Everytime. Love meeting the regulars that attend and talking with them. The staff is always nice and they have a good variety of food and snacks.

My recent trip to Fifth Third Field to catch a Toledo Mud Hens game was a delightful surprise. The game itself was even more entertaining thanks to the festive "Christmas in July" theme. From Santa Claus meet-and-greets to Christmas-themed drinks served in special baseball cup souvenirs, the Mud Hens staff went all out to create a fun and memorable atmosphere.Even though the Mud Hens fell short on the scoreboard, the overall experience remained positive. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, especially in our comfortable suite. The entire venue was impeccably clean and inviting, making it a great place to spend a summer evening.Whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or simply looking for a fun family outing, a Toledo Mud Hens game is a fantastic option. The affordable ticket prices, festive themes, and friendly atmosphere make it a night to remember, win or lose.

I'm a huge fan of baseball. Old school, I'm a 90s baby so Sandlot was my favorite movie "The Great Bambino" lol. This stadium is what I envision when I think 1920s Yankee stadium. It's small, homey and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Beautiful field, great people and the fireworks show are great. Highly recommend going here. Seats average $15 each if you go through their offical site and not ticketmaster!!

What can you say Fifth Third Field is a great place to see a baseball game. I don't know if there is a bad seat in the building. This time we were there for a company picnic. To be completely honest the food that we had catered from the ballpark was not good the chicken breasts were dry and Chewie and the bratwurst or whatever were nasty tasting and had a strange texture. Other than that our seats where good the staff where great and as always the field was immaculate.

Always a great time to catch a Toledo Mud Hens game 🥰 The burgers from the 2nd floor are delicious and juicy. The frozen cocktails are good!Great family environment! If given a chance to catch some postgame fireworks, take it! They are wonderful!

Crowded but what ball field isn't? All seats are good viewing. Food is 'reasonable again, for a ball field. Personal pan pizza from Marcos $7 and really good. Nachos with cheese and salsa $7. Chicken strip w/fries $11. Bottle pop $5. Cup of pop $4. Popcorn $5. Just a small example of what is available. Lots of fun on jumbo-tron during innings. Wooden folding fixed seats. Narrow between rows. No railings getting from entry level down to seats. Challenging for mobility limited walkers. Parking off site $10-$20. Parking garage nearby - $10. Lots of walking tho. Pricey shirt/gift shops at the park. All in all a fun time. Reminder - only SMALL bags allowed which are searched briefly upon entering. CASHLESS FACILITY THROUGHOUT.

This was my first experience with a Toledo Mud Hens game. I loved it! There is no bullpen, so the pitchers were practicing literally five feet in front of us. Players were somewhat friendly and gave some kids a ball or two while practicing. Field had easy parking, though a little expensive for $20. However, there were some cheaper places a block away. Food and beer was great. Obviously less crowded than MLB, so concessions were easy. Bathrooms were clean and easy. Mud Hen store was nice. Overall, it was a great experience that exceeded my expectations! The staff also allowed us to get a group picture of our kids in travel ball on the field before the game, which was pretty sweet.I would definitely come here again. We even got a picture with Tarik Skubal (not sure why he was there)!

Good experience in upper suite. Food was ready when we arrived and plenty available. It was a windy night, so it was nice to be able to close the doors and watch the game.

It is always a good time rooting on the Hens from this gorgeous ballpark. It is no wonder so many other cities have copied the look and feel of this stadium. It truly is a treasure of the Glass City.
Travis R — Google review
Beautiful ballpark but the tickets and parking are SO expensive. Only costs $8 to get into the Columbus Clippers game plus a minimum $4 to park in the cheap lot at Huntington Park in Columbus. In Toledo it costs $10 to park and the ticket to get in the park is at least $10 or more. Wish this changed but honestly it’s fine because the atmosphere and how much work that has went into making the surrounding area beautiful makes it worth it.

The Glass Pavilion is one of the most popular attractions at the museum, and its curved glass walls are simply stunning.
I am so grateful to have such an incredible art museum in our city. My son & I frequent this place. We always enjoy ourselves. If and when he does get antsy about not interacting with the art, we just head downstairs where he can touch EVERYTHING! My little dude has been Culturally educated and inspired with the opportunities we've had to visit this place from such an early age. Thanks Toledo!🖼🎨🌃🎵😎

We’ve always had such fun going to the museum. When the kids were little, they would count cats. As we walked from gallery to gallery, there were cats everywhere! In paintings, jewelry, statues. Then they started to appreciate what was around the cats. When my granddaughter turned 9 3/4 we celebrated with a Harry Potter day. So we had to stop at the museum for the great hall, the cloister & we were REALLY careful sharing secrets with paintings and statues.

I loved it here and want to go back soon. I went on a Friday when it was not crowded and found it very peaceful. Beautiful building and grounds and the museum features wonderful artwork. And admission is free! You pay for parking inside and it’s super easy.

This place is well worth your visit. We stopped in for my wife's birthday because she had wanted to visit. We started at the Glass museum and watched a 2-hour glass blowing demonstration which was very informative and entertaining. We then made our way over to the museum and spent about two and a half hours walking through the exhibits. They have some amazing art and history in the museum. Some of the modern stuff was not to my taste but just because it's not to my taste doesn't mean that it wasn't good art. I do believe that all people should enjoy art as it is part of our history in this museum definitely has that on display. I would recommend coming early and enjoying the exhibits at your own leisure.

I was in town to visit the museum and I just expected more. The staff was nice and it was a nice day. I just expected a little more. If you are in the area check it out.

For free ($10 parking in their lot), it's a nice museum. The room with their ancient collection is especially nice with a great Roman statue and some complete mosaics. The rest of the museum isn't bad but not especially outstanding. The glass pavilion has two Van Gogh's and one Monet.

A famous spot at Toledo, where it accommodate varieties of arts and with detailed descriptions. The information is very educative and it’s good to have family trips here.

This museum was the most amazing hidden gem I have run across in my entire life! The personal collection of the Libbey family consisting of priceless artwork, sculptures and hand made glass. It astonds me that this was once a private collection! Free admission and free parking when I visited in 2021.

My son does classes here in the summer, and I enjoy going to the special exhibits. The Caravaggio exhibit was excellent, and in general the museum is great. There's more than you can possibly see in one visit, so I'm lucky to live in town.

The Caravaggio exhibit and the Marisol exhibit were both wonderful to see! The museum is always interesting to visit and the Glass Pavilion is very special. We had lunch at the museum, too with a nice glass of wine. They have vegan options so it's perfect for me

This beautiful complex is wonderfully curated which makes it easy and pleasant to experience the beauty presented. There is variety, history and culture.I discovered a Dutch painting of people enjoying themselves on the frozen canal. And there were men playing golf! Yes, in 17th C.! The golf clubs were similar to those used in the 1920s.There are many buildings on the acreage of the campus. One is the "glass" museum which also houses a glassblowing demonstration and the Impressionist hall. There is paid parking, but free entry. But be careful: if you switch parking lots to go to other buildings, it'll cost another $10. Better to walk across the street. The staff are pleasant and personable, and contributed to a marvelous experiences we had.

We took our grands to the museum for a little culture. The oldest captured images, fascinated by the visuals and absorbed by exploring new angles and different depths of field, with the passion of a young photographer. The youngest hopped up and down, squealing with delight and trying to touch everything - so excited by this new world of color and shapes. But the middle child surprised me because she heard music in every piece she saw and danced joyfully through the exhibits, blissfully immersed in the art she was feeling. Heavy sigh. Nothing is better than being a grandmother. ❤️🫠

This is a great museum with impressive Egyptian collection amongst many others. Don't miss the glass gallery across the street housed in a sleek glass building designed by Pritzker recognized architects. Nothing against Toledo, but this is much more museum than you might expect in such a city.

First time visiting the museum. The staff was professional and friendly and the museum exhibits were awesome. Spent 3 hours and ran out of time. Looking forward to going back. The Caravaggio exhibit was special and I learned a lot about the artist, his life, and style. I have a new appreciation for art in the little time I spent there.

Wonderful curated sample of artwork and preserved spaces. It won't take you all day to view this collection. If you walk or take a bus it's free. You only pay for parking.

The Toledo Art Museum is a really spectacular museum for such a relatively small town. It puts many big city museums to shame (it’s nicer than the Dallas or Atlanta art museums). There is a nice medieval/antiquities collection, as well as a gorgeous large scale Rubens in the main gallery worthy of the Met or a major European museum. Other highlights are two Rembrants, a nice Hals family portrait, an El Greco, a Turner, a Monet, Renoir, two Van Goghs, and Thomas Cole’s “The Architect’s Dream.” There’s also a nice glass museum across the street where the Impressionist/Post-Impressionist art is currently being displayed. Entrance is free, and parking is cheap and plentiful. I’d highly recommend a visit.

Old established garden dating from the 1930s. Wonderful bonsai exhibits and Japanese styled garden. And huge bald cypress trees, too. Famous for the collection of Lithophanes, 3-D translucent porcelain plaques which, when back-lit, reveal detailed 3-d images. Very interesting, rare collection. Worth the visit.

This garden, established in the 1930s, is a truly enchanting place. It's renowned for its rare collection of Lithophanes—3D translucent porcelain plaques that reveal intricate images when back-lit. We were captivated by the stunning bonsai exhibits, the Japanese-inspired design, and the towering bald cypress trees. As we wandered, we were treated to the sight of graceful swans gliding across the water, surrounded by beautiful lily pads, and found many picturesque spots throughout the grounds. A fascinating and peaceful experience, it's definitely worth a visit.

We went here mostly for the Japanese garden they have on site. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of that garden with the vibrant greenery in stark contrast to the red of the torii gate and Japanese maples. Coupled with the well maintained bridges and the stream with waterfall, the place oozes tranquility and beauty in a format that is hard to come across in Ohio of all places. The additional bonsai tree collection, multitude of flower gardens, and lithophane museum make this an absolute hidden gem and wonderful destination to check out!

The lithophanes museum was interesting! The garden is nice but not spectacular. I've seen better public gardens. The annuals they plant are beautiful. I would have loved to see the peony and iris gardens but we came too late in the year. The lilies and hostas were blooming when we went; they had a lot of different varieties of each. They have the biggest Japanese maple I've ever seen with the brightest red leaves! It was magnificent! The bonsai garden was very cool too. There were so many!

It's small, but interesting. A self- guided walkway. There are stairs. Large ponds with water features and water lilies are most of it. The rose garden was small and dismal, compared to my local park. A vegetable garden that was hardy. Several statues adorn the flower beds.It was $11.00 senior entrance fee.

Former estate of President Rutherford B. Hayes, featuring home tours, library, museum & grave site.
I took the house tour and self toured the museum. I really enjoyed it. Lots if interesting facts and artifacts from the late 1800's. My husband loved the weapons room and my kids enjoyed the doll room and train room a lot. The house tour was like touring a life size period dollhouse! The grounds were nice.

It was my first trip to a presidential library, and I have to say the whole facility and grounds were just lovely. I hope other libraries are as scenic and picturesque as this one.Side note: A majority of the photos I uploaded were from the walls of the men's room. I thought they were cool.

I came to charge my car at this museum and discovered a gem! We only visited the outdoor portion of the museum but there was plenty to see. We were most interested by the diversity of the trees and as you can see took some pics of the ones we've never seen before. Very cool place and we'll definitely be back in the future!

Visited this place over 20+ years ago. Stopped today coming back from the lake to show my friend how cool it is. Arrived late, so didn't have time for a tour. But just the outside of the Library and Residence are marvel's to look at. There are nicely paved paths which lead to the gravesite, of which there are many marked trees and some interesting ones. Spiegal Grove is awesome location and property.

The house and museum are state owned, and not a part of the National Park service. As such, if you have a NPS pass, it will not be accepted. Not a knock on them, just a bit of information to pass along. The museum is well laid out, but to view things chronologically, I would recommend starting downstairs, the covering the upper part. The house is absolutely beautiful. 20,000+ Sq. Ft. and some the best Bierstadt artwork you could possibly see. The park itself is about 25 acres in size, and comprises a fraction of the original land holdings. Rutherford and Lucy's markers are on the grounds, but I did not have time to get pictures of those, unfortunately. All-in-all, a good way to spend part of a day, and plenty of room for a pic-nic to boot!

This is a great place to visit for anyone in the area, or passing through. The sheer amount of preserved historical items is astonishing. The museum is very well put together. Our tour guide for the residence was very informative, friendly, and kept the tour entertaining. For guests with disabilities, they even restored the elevator so you can see the second floor of the house.

We have visited all of the US Presidential Libraries and the museum portion was good. However, the Hayes house was very good. Our docent, Sarah, was super! She had a great personality and really knew the details about the house and the people who had lived in it. A few visitors asked questions that Sarah didn't know the answer but she had a tablet that she accessed quickly and supplied the answer. The grounds that surrounds the museum and house are absolutely beautiful and worth the time to walk around them. We spent about an hour and a half to visit the museum, the house tour was about an hour, and to walk around the grounds took about 45 minutes. In our opinion, it's a worth while visit.

Went to the Rutherford B Hayes museum and property and was awestruck. It was totally worth the visit. The mansions contents are priceless and takes you back in a time when the United States was young and vibrant. The property is beautiful. As I was guided through a tour there it was almost as if I could feel an unexplainable aura in the very air as I mentally absorbed the sights and sounds regarding this "American" family. Learned much concerning the Hayes couple and their whole lineage. Their contributions towards the success of the United States as a country is truly historic and of a legendary quality. There is much too experience here. If you have the opportunity pay the place a visit. If you enjoy United States history my guess is you will be genuinely moved.

Incredible historical estate to explore and tour.$20 per adult ($2 off for AAA members) and you get access to a guided tour of the home, self guided tour of the museum, and able to walk the grounds. You're able to walk the grounds, for free, if uninterested in museum or home. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Those who were operating the desk at the museum and giving the tours, all were very well educated on Hayes, and truly held a passion in sharing the history of our 19th President. The grounds are incredibly beautiful, 25 acres, and a mile of paved path that takes you around the outskirts of the property and back to the Presidential Tomb where Hayes, his wife, and there eldest son who was the last to live within the home and is credited for the structure of the museum are all buried. The museum houses three floors of Incredible artifacts from the families personal items, as well as random historical items collected over the years by their son, who, was a major history buff and enjoyed collecting. The home is a 31 room mansion that you'll tour by guide for about an hour getting some great insight regarding the home and family history.I spent about 4 hours to see everything.I've toured some major historical estates before - George Washington's, Robert Lee's, Eisenhower's and others. And, I can honestly say, that this estate is comparable to any of them. A truly magnificent historical gem that any one with any interest in presidential history, or history in general, most definitely should visit.A great tribute to our Nation's 19th President and well worth the visit.

A great way to spend a few hours. The museum is modern and interesting. The house is opulent and the craftsmanship and decor is aesthetically pleasing. The grounds are stunningly beautiful and well-kept. You'll see nice landscaping and encounter friendly squirrels. The best part of this experience is the staff. The women inside of the museum (the cashier and gift shop attendant) were very nice. The historians inside of the home were dedicated and our guide took personal pride in showing off the house and giving our tour group interesting facts. It's evident that the staff really cares about this special place.

The Hollywood Casino Toledo is a sprawling casino located in Toledo, Ohio. It features slots, game tables, a poker room, 4 dining venues and live entertainment. The casino has its own smoke-free facility and offers big-time games with jackpots organized each day.
Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - it was an older casino but there was no smoking on the casino floor which I appreciated. Slots, card games, automatic single person card games were all available as well as a sports betting restaurant that I was told is fairly new to Ohio.Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - zero complaints, everywhere was accessible with ramp options, elevators, most games have removable chairs. Bathrooms were also up to par.Food/Drink/Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - we did not sit down for a meal but ordered a Starbucks drink from the cafe which was 5/5, the frozen margarita was tart & we did not finish it & ended up ordering one mixed drink from the bar which was good. We met a woman who was cleaning (wish I had her name) who was SO friendly. Asked where we were visiting from & was extreme helpful about who to talk to about setting up a players club as a new guest. We enjoyed everything, overall.

Nice, clean, smoke free casino with areas for smokers (if applicable). Employees were seen constantly wiping down machines and beverage station. We ate at the Scene restaurant. It was about 30-35 minute wait. The Classic Burger with Sweet Potato fries were good! My only complaint was the Cherry Limeade alcoholic beverage. You pay $10 for a drink that will not give you a buzz. I am a light drinker and anything can give me a buzz, but it tasted amazing. I was told it's because you get only a get a hint of Jim Beam stag. If that's the case, go purchase a cherry limeade from Sonic.

Make sure you bring lots of money if you want a chance to win the jackpot. If you are like me we only have 100 dollars to play on once a month. So we bet only the lowest to make our time last longer than 10 minutes of fun on an hour drive. The blackjack table are 10 dollars a play and evening goes up to 20 and more. To rich for me to play.Good luck!

Pretty nice casino! Our first time there and was pleasantly surprised by how much they had packed in the building. Lots of slots, tables, games and drink stations. They had a couple Restaurants too but only 1 was open at the time we were there. Tons of ATMs and ticket kiosks throughout the floor for easy cash outs. They also have a smoking section with a bar and slot machines in the back which was nice but a little chilly. Super easy parking garage that has electric car hookups right up front if needed. Bathrooms were super clean and easily located throughout the casino.

Very clean, very organized, and the staff is very helpful. I don't remember the name of the young lady that helped us at the players service desk, but, she was very helpful in getting our cards and the app working for the free play even during this time. Glad we had someone like her to take the time and effort in helping us get all set up. The casino itself isn't too bad, I do like the ambiance and theme of it, lots of slots, though I wish they had a bit more variety in the games they have on the slots. Lots of the same with little gimmicks. Overall; we had a good time, made a good profit in the free play and will come again whenever a new event happens. Oh, one more thing. They do need more staff, looks like they have a problem for a while here.

We take mom there from Cleveland, because you still have a good selection of quarter machines, she likes the quarter machines. We(myself and my sisters) love the atmosphere, lots of slot machines, and this casino still has promotions (like raffles every hour),and the music is awesome!!! The only bad thing is that you got rid of the buffet. The buffet was one of the best we've been to,but that won't stop us from going there again. WE'LL DEFINITELY GO BACK AND FORTH TO TOLEDO CASINO, OUR FAVORITE!

Not very happy with the experience I had. There was never anyone around to answer questions for me. The lady that took my food order at Take 2 was RUDE!! The smoking area where I played as well was nasty. Full ashtrays and ashes covered machines. I lost $300 which is the chance I took, but to have no decent customer service around made that loss alot worse!!!

I just ordered a chicken dinner at the Take 2 Grill. The chicken was NOT COOKED thoroughly. I bit into it and it was cold in the middle. That can't be healthy for you. The service was fast - but I really need the food to be cooked rather than speedy service!! I took my order back to the register and it's going to be remade but I'm wondering if they're just going to recook the four pieces and the fries that I didn't bite into instead of cooking me a completely fresh order. Seriously concerning.

I’ve been here 3 times. My first two times were ok experiences. Didn’t win enough to even keep me playing for a bit, but hey sometimes that happens when gambling. I just had my third experience and it will be my last. I lost $350 in 45 minutes but once again comes with gambling. That’s not why I’m giving a two star, nor why I won’t be back. I live 5.5 hours away and that’s a good drive away, but also means I don’t know this area-at all! So after losing my money quickly, I go to my car in the parking garage to leave. Since I don’t know the area i need to get an address into my gps. In the parking garage I didn’t get any signal, so on my way exiting I pulled to the area of the garage that doesn’t have a roof over it, to look up the address I needed. After getting the address, I got distracted and started scrolling on fb for a minute. I happen to look up and notice this guy standing behind my car, about 15 ft back, faced my way. So at first I think he’s just the guy cleaning the parking area or something. I Go back to scrolling, but also keeping an eye on this guy; he’s starting to creep me out. He’s Still just standing there, staring at my car/me, I don’t exactly know. (But I’m the only car out there). He can’t seem to see that Ive been watching him in my mirror. So I finally open my door, to ask if there was an issue, or if I needed to move? He hastily starts approaching me, and very rudely was like “yea you need to leave”. while he alarmingly, and aggressively starts looking in my łbackseat. I’m getting more nervous by the minħpute and don’t quite understand what’s going on. I was the only one in my car. My backseat has a stuffed bear and Halloween costume of my daughters, and a tower for my cat that’s in the box, I just bought. So I’m not quite sure if he was interested in my 7yos costume or the cat tower or why he felt the need to do that. I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I had been there a total of 16 minutes (I know that because of phone calls placed). Even after I told him I had just finished gambling, am not from this area and was getting an address for my gps. Very rudely again while starring in my backseat still was like “no you aren’t here! you need to leave here now!”Quite frankly, I’m appalled and offended. I think if I come give your establishment $350 in 45 minutes I’ve paid my right to be able to pull over (in a parking space) and use my phone for a minute; since I can’t while driving, and don’t know where I’m going. I just said “ok thank you, I am leaving and now definitely won’t be back!” I meant it, and will definitely let others know how rude and unprofessional that guy was. Also how uncomfortable that made me. All for no reason. I could understand if I was there along time. I could understand if I was doing something I shouldn’t have been. I could understood if someone needed the spot I was in. There’s a lot of things I can understand but not anything about that situation can I understand. i wish I had taken a photo or video of the guy behind my car and then how acted when he approached me.

Update April 2024-We went to Regalo for dinner and loved it! We started with the Caprese salad, it was ok, but we got 4 slices of tomato but only 3 slices of mozzarella. Very light on the balsamic reduction. It had greens on it (a lot). It wasn't the best we've had, but not the worst. Olive oil and herbs were very good on the fresh bread, which was very good as well. My wife had the Cacio E pepe, cooked table side. Chef? Was very good, talked us through the cook. My wife loved it! I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with the hot Italian sausage. The sausage was good, but a bit dry. Not overly dry. The noodles were not al dente, it was soft. I didn't mind, it reminded me of awesome mashed potatoes. Very creamy and good. I would order it again. Our server, Chase, was very good. Super nice and helpful. We will eat here again.Slots are too tight. Not enough table games. Drinks are way overpriced

What a fun day at the zoo. Weather was perfect. Hanging out with my sisters, exchange daughter from Denmark and my great nephew was great. The animals were active and fun to watch. The baby elephant was probably the most adorable animal at the zoo today. The Toledo Zoo never fails.

I bought the membership with an add-on for 2 guests and also experience package. My grandchildren love it!I am so pleased how much my family and i can enjoy it. There are a lot of things to see and do! I am very happy I made this purchase. It's definitely well worth it, 💞

Excellent zoo! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. My kids were well entertained for hours which is not easy to do. Only complaint is that they don’t let you bring in food and the food in the zoo is overpriced. 🦍🦧🦒🦛🐘🦅🐅🐊🦓🦏🦥🦭🐆🦚🐻

Really awesome zoo experience here. Everything seemed clean and spaces seemed well thought out and organized. You're able to get up close to most of the exhibits to get a better view. We enjoyed our time here. Plan on a 3-4 hour visit to walk the whole zoo, longer if you want to be more in depth. Would definitely come back another time!

I absolutely love the flow of this zoo! The habitats are built so that you can see the animals from more than one vantage point. That way, you are pretty much guaranteed viewing. Loved it so much I purchased a membership!! Great zoo!!!!

The sleep over at the zoo experience is the best! If you have the opportunity, go for it. We learned so much about the animals and their care. The kids had a great time.Adults - for sleepovers bring food if you can’t or don’t eat standard kid food 🍕🍪🧃.Staff is well informed and helpful. The older guy who shows the more dangerous animals is so knowledgeable and great with the kids.

The best zoo I've visited yet. It would be worth going just for the Museum of Natural History. The animal exhibits are immaculate as are the grounds. There are playgrounds and a large splash zone for kids. This place is stunning. You won't be disappointed.

The Toledo Zoo is a fantastic destination for animal lovers of all ages. One of the highlights is the incredible aquarium, which is beautifully designed and filled with a diverse array of marine life. From colorful coral reefs to mesmerizing jellyfish, the exhibits are immersive and educational, offering a great opportunity to explore the wonders of the underwater world. The zoo also features an awesome museum section that showcases fascinating artifacts and exhibits related to wildlife conservation, animal history, and the natural world. It’s a perfect blend of entertainment and education, making it a must-see for those interested in learning more about our planet’s ecosystems. The second floor is great for hanging out with reptiles and bugs! But beyond the aquarium and museum, the zoo itself is home to a wide variety of animals from around the globe. Whether it’s watching majestic lions and tigers, observing playful primates, or visiting the giraffes, the zoo offers countless opportunities to get up close to your favorite creatures. The spacious, well-maintained habitats reflect a commitment to animal welfare and conservation, making the experience both enjoyable and ethical. In addition to the animals, the Toledo Zoo also has great dining options, fun rides, and seasonal events like the Lights Before Christmas, ensuring that there’s always something exciting happening. Overall, it’s a world-class zoo with something for everyone! Highly recommended for a family day out or a leisurely adventure.

I recently visited the Toledo Zoo and had a wonderful time. The zoo was well-maintained and clean, with plenty of animals on display. I was particularly impressed with the variety of species and the spacious enclosures. As a veteran, I was grateful for the free admission. It was a great way to spend a day out and appreciate the natural world. While there were a few animals that were not visible during my visit, the overall experience was fantastic. The aquarium was especially impressive, with a stunning array of marine life.I spent about four hours at the zoo and was able to see most of the exhibits. If you're looking for a fun and educational outing, I highly recommend visiting the Toledo Zoo.

This is a GREAT zoo with a pretty awesome aquarium added to your original entry price! Active military and our amazing Veterans have free entry. We went to see the new baby elephant and found additional babies were born there this spring. Really awesome!

My favorite Zoo! Beautiful exhibits, a terrific collection of diverse & unique animals & plants, and so many wonderful concerts & events to attend that keep you coming back throughout the year! Make sure to visit the Kookaburras, Red Pandas, River Otters, Polar & Grizzly Bears, Snow Leopards, Tigers, Giraffe Feed Deck, Komodo Dragons, Native Turtles, Tasmanian Devils, the Rose Garden & ALL the historic WPA buildings! I also highly recommend getting a membership! It pays for itself in two visits & gives discounts on food & merchandise purchases. So much to see & do at my must-do zoo! 💗

Absolutely amazing!I'm local to Detroit and always visit the Detroit zooThe setup of the zoo is amazing! The animal displays are set up soooo well.Besides seen all the animals they have so many museums in exhibits you will not get bored!Took me about 4 hours walking through stop in an observing the animals and everything else they have to offer. When we visited it was 90° still 95% of the animals were active!

I love this zoo! So much to do and perfect for young kids! They had a weeknight promo for half off after 4pm, so stayed a few hours in the evening, but we could have easily spent all day! The little kids play area is so neat! There were tons to do for little ones who love to splash and play in the dirt (bring swimsuits and extra clothes/ towels!). The running stream was our kids' favorite, but there is something for everyone. I was happy to see the playground still around and the (newer) splash pad area! Petting zoo is so cute too! Great food options. I wish the carousel and train were included in admission-I don't know that we'd pay to do more than once- but they were pretty affordable.

Love the Toledo Zoo! Grounds are clean, lots of exhibits. Orangutans are always my favorite. Got to see the baby which was adorable. Mama was showing off her off to everyone. I bought a membership which = admission for me and one other and free parking. If you go to the zoo more than once per year, the membership is worth it.

The Toledo Zoo is a fantastic destination for families and individuals alike, offering a wide range of exhibits and activities that keep visitors engaged and entertained. One of the highlights for many visitors is the aquarium, where you can explore an incredible array of marine life. Another popular attraction is the poison dart frog tropical conservatory. It's always a fun challenge to grab the chart and hunt for all the different colors of these vibrant frogs, making it an educational experience as well. The zoo's commitment to interactive displays and knowledgeable staff truly enhances the visit. Whether it's learning about animal behaviors, conservation efforts, or simply enjoying the beautifully designed habitats, there's something for everyone. The hands-on experiences make it easy for children to learn and stay engaged, which is a huge plus for families looking to make the most of their visit. An annual membership to the Toledo Zoo offers excellent value, allowing unlimited visits throughout the year. This is especially beneficial for families who can take advantage of different seasonal events and activities. The zoo's dedication to providing a fun, educational, and interactive environment makes it a perfect choice for anyone looking to spend quality time while learning about the natural world.

Had a blast! The animals were so active today! We took advantage of the Zoo membership as it was cheaper for us to buy a membership for our family of 6 vs paying for each ticket. The membership also allows us half off some other zoos in the area! The red panda was SO adorable!

We love our Zoo!There are many animals to see/learn about. They offer several activities for children to do and even offer classes and camps for children and parents to attend. They put a lot of effort into the learning, games and crafts at their camps and classes. They have a small splash pad that my son loves, as well as many concessions to choose from.Animal demonstrations and opportunities to get up close and personal with animals like the sting ray touch tank. Feeding giraffes and others.

One of the best zoos I’ve been to! I really liked how the zoo is spilt up into 2 separate areas, because it seems to help things not be so crowded. My family and I had certain exhibits all to ourselves. Despite going on a VERY hot day (90 and up) a lot of the animals were active. We especially loved the aquarium. There were also plenty of staff/volunteers around the zoo offering facts and information. It’s a great place for kids.
Shelby C — Google review
We had a great time as always. The polar bear cubs were napping and annoying each other in the den. The merry-go-round was a hit! The snakes were super active that afternoon. The frogs were all over the path in the tropical exhibit in the museum. Their aquarium is also amazing, but sadly we were tuckered out. Toledo is an awesome zoo! Top notch.
Patrick F — Google review
Had an absolute blast at the Toledo Zoo/Aquarium. We had three families in town for a reunion and kids varying from 10 to 16 years old and they all had a great time. The poison dart frog area was a huge hit for kids and adults. Everyone had fun in the aquarium, seeing the new baby elephant, checking out the aviary and the rhino! We stopped for lunch at the BBQ place and it was good - corn bread was cold LOL but it was sweet & good.

1928 theater with an ornate Italian-style interior hosting a wide range of concerts, plays & events.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The inside of the theatre is beyond beautiful! The place is always so clean. Have been to several shows (high school musicals, live bands, or Ritz Players shows), and all have been great experiences.Drinks and snacks from the bar have been reasonable priced. Not a huge selection, but sufficient.

Really nice. Clean. Ample seating. Parking is tricky. It's across the street and down a dark ally. Other than that had a great time at The Winter Dance!

Theater was well managed,, attendants were there to help, stage props well worked into performance. Really nice noir atmosphere....Mummies, great show, will definitely catch their act again. Never saw dueling picollos before, and absolutely loved the competitive performance of the 2 Bass clarinets. 😎👍

We enjoy shows here all the time. For a small venue, they work hard to get great performers. I hope everyone goes to the theater at least once a year. People complain that they can't go places or do things because it costs too much money. You can afford it if you stop eating at Mcdonald's and buying garbage from places like amazon and temu.Go to the theater instead. #aclarifiedwoman #shelivesontheroad #shesharestheroad #thingslookdifferentouthere

Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is a vast sanctuary that offers both summer and winter recreational activities, as well as an interactive nature center and a playground. The park's expansive grounds include the towering group of trees known as The Spot, which provides a picturesque location for elopements or wedding photo shoots. Oak Openings also features hiking trails that offer endless opportunities for stunning photo opportunities with furry companions.
Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is a huge park located in Swanton close to Toledo Airport. This park has bicycle trails in miles and miles along with walking trails. It has a beautiful kids playing area and a lake in the middle of the park. It is a great attraction point where you will see many deer roaming around. It is so much peaceful as it is away from the crowded area and the city. Highly recommended place to visit near Toledo area.

Great place to take a stroll in the woods. The parking lot is a good size and can fit a lot of cars. The restrooms were clean. We mostly did the brown trail, ending with the blue trail to connect to Mallard Lake at the end. The trail is nice and wide. The surface is smooth and easy to use. The bugs were a bit annoying, but they were just gnats, not mosquitoes.

One of the best biking trails in the area with the connection to the Wabash Cannonball trail which goes for many miles! Even on a 70 degrees fall weekend it wasn’t too busy. Was nice to note that the trail in the park itself was recently repaved, very nice surprise. Was such a relaxing and beautiful bike ride among natural surroundings!

I decided to pick a random spot to go on an adventure. One spin of the wheel later, I ended up here. Plenty of trails consisting of varying lengths and challenges. If you have kids, there is a huge park that is modern and well built. If you have a dog, I'd recommend this place for bigger/tougher dogs since the terrain changes often and can be rough in some areas. I got about a 4 mile walk in here and feeling great! Definitely coming back again sometime for more adventuring.
Buckeye M — Google review
I highly recommend this bike park. The technicals and skills course are solidly built. No 'sketchy' features at all. The wooden bridges may look like playground features, but parents of young children need to understand this is a bike park, and allowing children to climb and walk the features is both dangerous to them and the riders. Apart from this, I give this park a double thumbs up 👍👍

Always fun...minus the mosquitos. Trails are easy to walk and lots of wonderful scenery. They also have a fun playground for children up to about the 8 year range. Nice clean bathroom house as well...overall just a great little place to take the family for a picnic with some trail walking and playtime.

We horseback trail ride at Oak Openings. It is one of our favorite places to trail ride. Facilities are modern, and trails are well marked and maintained. Access to the park is easy and well marked. Hoping in the future, they set up a horse only camping area. We have used other parks that have this feature, and we love to overnight camp with our horses and meet other horse people.

Awesome find while out Ohio road tripping. Wish I would of had time to explore more of the park. The pond by the Buehner Center was awesome. A little man man waterfall and several picnic shelters. Nice, clean restroom facilities located there. The pond or lake is catch and release. Would like to make it back sometime again.

Well kept facilities. Trails are clean and welcoming for ALL levels of "hikers". Even though they aren't very challenging, at all, they are nice and scenic. The restrooms were clean. The playground is superior to other Metro Park playgrounds.

Trees are scientifically good for you, so a trip to Oak Openings was just what our traveling, hotel cooped-up bodies needed. Just being amongst the trees, with the negative ions was heaven for me. I was drooling at all the nature shots available and wished we would have gotten there sooner, so we could have spent more time enjoying the crisp air and beautiful scenery. As it was, they closed at dark, and we had about an hour to enjoy ourselves. I got some beautiful shots to share with you. I just can't get that healthy, crisp forest air to download properly for you to benefit from.

Great place. Stopped mid day on a Thursday, and the owner was very friendly and helpful, but didn't linger and make you feel rushed. My FiL and husband spent about an hour looking at all the vehicles. They have a car show room, mechanical shop for classics, and a small gift shop. They also have slot machines and car toy memorabilia.

--- 2023/12/21 ---Another great Harvest Hosts stay at Snook's. The collection had a few changes and Murphy (or standard poodle) always enjoys seeing Terry (mechanic and fellow auto nut). One of our favorite HH spots in Ohio.--- ORIGINAL REVIEW ---Found Snook's via Harvest Hosts and so happy we did. We arrived around 6:30pm on Sunday and we were THRILLED how large and flat their parking lot was.We identified a good spot to park our rig out of the way for the night. Setup was SO EASY because we were completely level where I stopped. 🤩Got a good night's sleep and the next morning Murphy the standard poodle and I went inside Snook's to check out the collection.Amazing automotive collection with a working garage. Terry showed me a couple collection and customer cars he was working on.Highly recommend Snook's for automotive lovers and RV'ers alike.

Well the museum itself was great but it would have been nice if they expected credit card or debit card. Because I would have bought a lot of stuff from the gift shop, so I think if that was told on the website it would give people a heads up. Other than that it was a nice place to see cars and car related stuff.

Call for an appointment if you want to go on a weekend. Otherwise M-F 8-5 (I think).I went with my father inlaw, husband, and son for Father's Day because they're all cars guys. I'm not, but I enjoy looking at them. There are some really spectacular cars there. So shiny lol!!I love hood ornaments and they have a Rolls, so I got to see the lady! There's also a selection of Memorabilia that was fun to see.Jeff knows the history of wvery car there and each car has a history page on a stand next to it.

Had a great visit to the Iron Triangle this past weekend. We saw five trains in the couple hours we were there. My kids loved the caboose (although we missed the open hours), and being able to watch the trains and the crossing signals from the park. I appreciated the clean bathrooms! Fantastic first experience for my budding rail fans.

We go every year to watch trains. Very nice railroad park. It's open 24-7. See the local police to get the code for the washrooms after 8pm. You will see a good amount of rail traffic.

Great place to watch trains on several sets of tracks. Restrooms. Viewing station. Bus/RV parking available. There is a caboose you can tour (not always open)

Great train watching location with lots of trains. Can watch trains on all three sides. Saw locomotives from BNSF, Norfolk Southern, CSX and Canadian Pacific within 45 minutes. Lots of activity here.

Lots of parking. There are restrooms, benches and a covered area (for sun/drizzle).You can't see the signals well in any direction from the park. You can see the tracks in all directions. It's mainline action...we saw NS power, UP power and BNSF power and very long trainsBut not as much action as expected.Saw three trains in three hours

Awesome place to watch trains in a safe and comfortable environment. There’s a nice viewing platform, public and clean restrooms, speakers tuned into the sun frequency. The city of Fostoria really knocked it out of the park for the rail fan community.

I’ve never seen more action in my life this rail park has a lot of action, Norfolk Southern CSX and so much more. I haven’t seen a heritage unit here yet, but I called BNSF with a horn show. Over 36 hornshows the hornshow of the year it was amazing I saw 13 trains and a lot of other railfans
Kingston P — Google review
Unassuming. We spent an hour there watching 3 trains up close. They were so loud. It was fun!
Elizabeth H — Google review
Nice park. Was here for the eclipse and would have enjoyed it so much more if I could have been able to hear the trains go by instead of the obnoxious blaring music they brought in. I could not even hear my husband who was seated next to me. It was totally unnecessary for this event.
Char B — Google review
This used to be a good place to come watch train but not anymore. This bathroom circus has gotten out control. It's not safe for railfans anymore and if you go use the bathroom you could be falsely accused of something that you didn't do. You're better off using a porta pot if its not in use. I will not ever come back to this rail park. i'll go to deshler where you won't have any issues. so long fostoria.

This is a beautifully maintained facility with bathrooms and covered level areas for train spotting/ filming. They have a radio scanner set to I believe the NS mainline running East to West. The B&O caboose offers lots of interesting photo opertunities on the CSX mainline. I would highly recommend a visit!

By the time I got to the Iron Triangle Railpark, it was already dark, but from what I was able to see, it seems like a great place to take the family! You can grab a bite to eat or bring a picnic basket, and then take it to the observation area to watch trains, talk, and spend time together. I will definitely return to experience the railpark during the day, so that I can take advantage of all the amenities offered.
Christopher W — Google review
If you love trains this is the place to go. Norfolk southern and CSX cross here. Should never have to wait more than an hour or 2 to see a train especially through the week. Weekends might be slightly longer but not by much.
Anthony H — Google review
Good place for a railfan. Three rail lines insure plenty of trains. Easy to get to but you may have to wait for a train.
Frank J — Google review
Very clean restrooms, nice covered lounging area to relax. The NS line is right next to the fence. The downfall, in my opinion, is the other lines you just don't know the way they are gonna go, so you're running a lot to be able to video them .

Great place with a high selection of books. We also went to their store which had a lot of books, cute stuffed animals, and paintings. The room with the pop up books was my favorite and I really enjoyed how you could read every book. Each little area had a hand statue of the author, the authors book, and one of more paintings or drawings hilighting part of the book.

Brought the Kids here for a Covid homeschool field trip. Had to schedule in advance, but was WELL WORTH IT. We ended up being the only ones there, the kids had a blast finding the art tiles in the hallway. We then received a personalized guided tour, it was amazing! I had a great time and my 3 and 7 year had a blast. The pop up book room was the coolest in my opinion. It gives a break down of how they are designed, made and processes with a ton of hands on displays. Cant believe i had never heard of it before, but a great find regardless and Free to all. They also do monthly read/draw along with authors. Pretty amazing opportunity for any kids who like art or books.

Very interesting exhibits. Extremely accommodating and knowledgeable docents. Binders of background information on the artists. Convenient free parking. Free admission to the exhibits. A wonderful day trip from Detroit. A great way for young people to get exposed to the art in children's literature. And it was great for us grandparents to see the art of the books we spend so much time reading to our little ones.

Great experience all around! 2 nights camping and 2 days diving was fun! Any skill level divers can be found learning and tweaking. As a diver with many dives I still found the lines tied between sunken objects to be awesome. You can't miss anything!Cheyenne in the office is so friendly and helpful! The air card is a great deal! There's a small food truck. We can't wait to go again!

Had a great time here. Did 4 dives and enjoyed all of them. Air fills were super easy, though had a bit of difficulty getting full pressure on my 3300 psi balanced AL80. Overall great time! Will definitely be back!

Excellent scuba diving quarry. Free parking up front, and free carts to take your gear to the docks. $15 for parking next to the quarry docks. Lots of camping spots too for tents, or premium spots for RV camping. It’s cheaper and less crowded during the week. Friday - Sunday is a little more expensive.Portapotties next to the quarry (bring a flashlight if it’s overcast or nighttime), and full plumbing bathrooms with private showers near the entrance. Or you can rent a single cot in the loft area.

This is where my open water certification started, so many years ago. Great controlled environment. So much to see, great open platforms to practise skills, different things at different depths so there is something for everyone. Good spaces on platforms to get geared up and store gear in between dives. Sturdy stair cases bring you from land down into the quarry, with railings. Safety first!! Prices are reasonable to enter quarry and they offer some rental gear if something breaks or you forget. They also do air fills so you know you will have a great day diving. Staff are friendly and courteous. Nice selection of gifts shop items if you're looking for a first time momento or if you been coming here for years, there's bound to be something for everyone. There are flush toilets and showers onsite, which is a huge draw! Don't forget they also offer camping!

Fantastic place to dive and train. They have everything you need to get underwater here, including air, BCDs, regs, and wetsuits. They have banked Nitrox at around 31% available. The water is unusually clear for an inland lake, and the place has a ton of fish, even a lot of trout. They threw some stuff into the quarry you can look at and swim around, such as a helicopter and an airplane. The east side of the quarry is shallow and contains most of the stuff you'd want to look at. The west side is deep and cold. In July it was 41°F at 110 ft down for us.They sell fish food for for $1 - and it's worth grabbing a bag. Just beware of how aggressive the fish will be when they discover your purchase.Equipment rentals here are VERY expensive, so bring your own gear to make it more affordable.

My husband and I had the BEST time scuba diving at Gilboa Quarry! The owner, Andy, is so kind and made sure we had everything we needed with our rental gear. He answered every question that we had and made us feel so welcomed! The platforms at the dock right when you get in are so helpful for checking buoyancy and making sure you’re all set before you descend, all of the sunken structures are so neat to see- but there’s nothing cooler than the fish. As soon as you get near the bus, the fish come right up to see if they’re going to get fed- and luckily for them we bought multiple bags of the fish food from the office and got swarmed. I recommend Gilboa Quarry to every diver I know!

Amazing scuba diving park a lot to see as well as challenging depths to practice skills at depths can exede 100 ft + all rules and requirements are posted in the office as well as maps and some gear rental. They also have an air filling station.

Had a blast! Everyone there that I encountered was so helpful and nice. Very welcoming place to come to. I arrived as a single diver looking for buddies and they helped direct me to people who may be looking and also to a board that had available people with their numbers, who would dive with you if you wanted. Fantastic place. Camping was great. People great. Diving great.

Instructors for this weekend were Charles Nutt and Jim Davis. Both of these guys had all the intangibles of great instructors. Not a hint of frustration or annoyance, just an absolute love of SCUBA they clearly wanted to share! The class felt more like good friends sharing skills than an instructor/student environment!! These guys made the experience awesome!!!

Great diving spot with affordable camping steps away from the water. The office is very organized and overall, it was a super affordable spot to dive for the weekend. The diving itself has great variety and you can get your night dives in here. 100% recommend.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! This past weekend was unforgettable, thanks entirely to the amazing staff. Joseline and Brenda were phenomenal, always welcoming with warm smiles. Despite the surrounding chaos, they ensured I had everything I needed for my scuba certification. I even lost my phone a few times, but they helped me laugh it off and kept the atmosphere light-hearted.Herman and Drake were equally fantastic. Honestly, the whole team deserves a raise! The best way to describe the experience is that you walk in as a customer, but leave as a friend and part of the community. The sense of community is incredible, and I plan to visit every other weekend from now on! The quarry itself was stunning, but the people I met over the weekend made it even more worthwhile.Thank you all for the wonderful experience!I'll see you guys soon! :)

Loved it!!! We had a great time as a family including the dogs!!! Was alot of fun for me and my kids my husband did his diving and I got to watch and learn and had some dive time myself. When I wasn't diving me and the kid's with the dogs got to swim in a little area. It was very nice just remember water shoes and bug spray. We camped for 2 nights and everyone was very nice. We are already talking about going back. Super fun place.

Very crowded. People don't like to move out of the way while you're driving. Rules aren't enforced. We had to listen to horns honking, people yelling gross stories about private body parts across the way, kids in ours and other sites with flashlights and screaming at each other til 2 am. We had to chase the kids out of our sites a few times. One group of drunk adults at the bathroom calling people they don't know out of their name, Called the ODNR number to ask for help getting some of these issues resolved as these were mostly drunk people, no help there. The campground itself is very clean. Bathrooms were pretty clean for a public place, but only one shower house for the whole camp. Lots of children's activities and tons of kids through the campground. Spots are large but on top of each other. Our neighbors had to ask if we were even in the right zone because they're on top of each other. Geese are an issue so lots of poop on the sites. It seemed like a lot of people enjoyed the water way in various ways. Fire pits do not have grates to cook on so bring a grate or grill with you. I also suggest you bring your own firewood as it's expensive at a few places and you cannot cut your own on site, there really isn't any to cut anyway. There are picnic tables at your site. They have a volleyball pit which they said was recently put in, a dog run area, a beach, snack house, nice pool, playground areas, a gaga-ball pit, canoe rentals. Staff was very friendly and helpful when asked a direct question outside of calling ODNR. Staff is also only available during business hours. We did get good phone reception. It did feel like an overall safe place. Just wasn't really an enjoyable time for my family though so we won't be returning ourselves. Happy camping, y'all!

This was a wonderful State Park. I suggest anyone who can visit it, to just do it. The lot’s are very large. They have wonderful tree coverage and although it was a very busy park, we still had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed long boat rides on the lake, and around through all the channels. Fishing was plentiful. We saw so much wildlife, from sea mammals, turtles and jumping fish; to rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks and a vast array of birds. They have a swimming pool, in addition to the lake swimming, and the doggie beach. They also have horseshoe pits, playgrounds and fire pits for all. I also noticed they have rental boats, kayaks, jet skis, and golf carts; for people who may want to try something they’ve never done before. The park also has kids activities, and even dog activities available; which are included with the campsite. The restrooms and changing facilities were flushing toilets and very clean well stocked facilities. I couldn’t recommend this place enough for absolutely any age range. Enjoy yourself, I know we did. 💕

It has many amenities, including a pool, shuffle board, volleyball, a nice playground with gaga ball, a boat ramp, and beach access, as well as a dog park. Some sites have beautiful views of the lake. There are also lots of things to do outside the campground, in the rest of the state park and in the surrounding towns.

ndian Lake State Park stands out as the finest state park we've experienced. It surpasses KOA campgrounds in several aspects:1. Spacious campsites: The sites are exceptionally large, providing ample room for comfort and privacy.2. Prime location: Situated right next to the lake, offering stunning views and easy access to water activities.3. Excellent amenities: Features include a swimming pool, large dog park, and a well-stocked commissary.4. Exceptional value: At just 25% of the cost of typical KOA stays, it offers superior facilities and natural beauty at a fraction of the price. This park combines the best of nature, comfort, and affordability, making it an ideal destination for campers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Went this past weekend with parents and my fiance. Great park with lots to do. The pool was a bit crowded but super strict on what you can/cannot do - there were 5 lifeguards posted around the pool watching everyone like hawks, through off the mood a bit so we didn't stay long. They had a little outdoor theater set up for family movies Friday and Saturday night. Quiet hours were closely observed by local campers.Highly recommend checking out Indian Lake Brewery, great place to try some local beers. The lake is suffering for an algae or overgrowth problem, parts of the lake were covered in greenish/brown overgrowth boats needed to avoid.

OK... I will admit it... I love Ohio State Parks! And Indian Lake is no exception! And this park has a pool!!!The sites are on average decent sites. Most have a good amount of space between them. Site B had the most amount of shade and Site C had the least. Site A was a mixed bag on shade. There were plenty of restrooms and each area had it's own shower house. Site B recently had a new shower house built. We really enjoyed the kayak/canoe/ bike rental that was available. There is so much to see and do around the area... but with these rentals available and the pool, we really did not have to leave to really enjoy our time!My only complaint is that there is no enforcement on parking. People parked their cars anywhere they wanted! I am used to having to keep two or three wheels on the pad, but that did not apply here.I have camped here before and will definitely be back!

Nice campground with several loops. Some of the sites have direct access to the water. Our site was nice but the water access was a little discouraging due to the alge in the water. However, the view from the kitchen window was very nice. There is ample space between sites but not as large or as private as most state parks that I love. The beach is nice and clean, of course you have to dodge the geese poop. The beach was almost empty but when I walked over to the pool I saw where the water seekers were. The pool area seems very nice. The campsite store is well stocked and the staff is very friendly. Check in was a breeze and the ladies at Check in were nice and helpful.Water pressure for filling up is low so prepare for water fill up to take a while. Also, every site in our loop was full hook up with the exception of ours. There was a beautiful sunset that my friend Cheryl captured when I was too tired to come out on arrival day!I plan to go to the shower house tomorrow and update this review.Update: Bathrooms are the typical state park bathroom.

Gorgeous! I visited once during a school trip growing up, and then begged my parents to see it as well years later. The cavern tour itself is amazing.. like being on a different planet. It's easy to navigate, the paths are well laid out. The formations are incredible, stalagmites and stalactites in the caves are really something special. The tour guides are kind and informative, and the tour group moves slowly enough so that you can really take it all in. The gift shop is wonderful, as well. The grounds outside of the cave are stunning, full of rolling hills. I highly recommend bringing a picnic!

Took my 4 year old daughter here this past weekend and it was such a neat experience! We bought a big bag of sand for her to pan and she was lucky enough to find a huge chunk of amethyst, what a lucky girl! The caverns themselves are absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend buying both the historical tour and the natural wonders tour. You take a short bus ride to get to the historical tour entrance and they bless you back to the natural wonders tour. The prices are very reasonable and this is really an amazing place to take children of all ages, even great for just adults.

Nice cave system, very impressive. I have been to a bunch of different caverns around the U.S. and this one was one of the more expansive ones that I have seen. It's surprising to see just how far you have traveled underground when you come out at the end point. The cave bacon lacked some redness to it, but the Crystal King was rather impressive and so was the xenomorph egg looking thing. Also, the floating pillars were unique and something I had not seen before. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but a very worth-while trip.

I came to the caverns with the church. We all thought it was AWESOME! I love touring historical sites like these caves. It's so beautiful. The scenery outside as well as inside the caves. The guide was very informative and the staff here at the caverns were great!

We took both the historical & natural cave tours. The historical tour is nice but nothing special. Also, it has a lower ceiling, fine for me at 5’3” but my son and husband had to dunk quite a bit at 5’10” & 6’ 0”.The natural cave was better and included crystals but still not as great compared to the ones in Kentucky & Indiana. If you’re traveling to the area it’s worth a stop but don’t plan your whole vacation around this place as you will only spend about 2-3 hours here. The staff was friendly and the gift shop was nice.

A magical and informative experience. I cannot say enough great things about this place. We did both tours and I highly recommend it. They are both beautiful and have so many interesting facts and history. Both the guides were so amazing, they were funny, friendly and full of information. There is a staircase on both tours and the walk can get narrow in certain points so just keep that in mind for accessibility. This place is a must see and you will not regret doing the tour.

Our visit here was a nice visit and we had an awesome tour guide. There was a Little bit of a weight but that is because the tours are scheduled in incremental time frames we didn't have a problem getting into the next available tour. Tour groups are small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable. We enjoyed shopping at the store and I even got to use their indoor sleuth box. We bought the $25 bag and the amount of cool rocks and minerals in it well exceeded the cost so I was very satisfied. We will be returning again this summer with my grandchildren. This is definitely an excellent tour. If you have never been to a cavern because it is not too long, it is not too short and it does not present a claustrophobic presence.

LarderRoom... The Ohio Caverns are a must-see if you visit the Midwest. There are currently 2 tours, the historic and the natural wonder. Both tours take about 45-50 minutes and can be done back to back (with just a small break between). There is also a large discount if you do both so take advantage of that for sure. We enjoyed both tours. If you only have time for one, I'd say, do the natural wonder. But do both if you can. They are pretty different, and the tour guides make it knowledgeable and fun. We will be back for sure.

A must stop when in the West Liberty area! Our family loved it,the winter tour was the perfect blend of history and seeing the most beautiful sites in the cavern. The tour was easy for all ages of our party. Tour itself is only about an hour, but you could have a wait to get to go down if there are a lot of people there since they can only take a certain amount each time.

Absolute blast. Definitely reccomend the combo tour. The historical and natural wonders tours are very different but you learn so much from both. The caverns are so colorful. Getting there early was a good plan. We were with the first tour of the day. Parking was easy and everywhere you needed to go was labeled. The park is entirely solar powered which I appreciated.

The caverns were easy to find. We arrived on a Monday around 2 o’clock. There was ample parking close to the entrance. Very nice bathrooms which is a welcome sight at the end of a road trip. A quick stop in to the gift shop to purchase tickets with only a 15 min wait for the guided tour to begin. No food or drinks in the caverns except water. It was a very hot day in SW ohio, humid and mid-90’s. A perfect day to escape the heat and descend underground into the 50 degree caverns. We had an incredible adventure! At the end of the tour we popped back in the gift shop and picked up a few gems and minerals to take home. Thanks for creating such a lovely space to enjoy the caverns!

We thought we were heading to the wrong place while driving there. The caverns are in the middle of nowhere in the Ohio countryside/farmland. What a surprise to find such stunning caverns below an unassuming hill. We did both tours - the Natural Wonders Tour had all the cool crystals and formations, but the Historical Tour was interesting as well to learn about the history of the caverns. Definitely recommended

Ohio is my husband and I's home state, yet neither of us had ever been to see the cavern. We live in Florida now, and on our trip home to see family this year, we decided to go explore this amazing place! We did the combo tour, and our tour guides were absolutely great! This is definitely worth the price for the full experience. We also bought a bag of mine your own gems, and panned them out ourselves! It was a great day date for us! We purchased a hand full of different souvenirs, and the souvenir photo from the Natural Wonders tour!

So much fun! I didn't realize this was a day-trip style drive (about 2.5-3hrs from my area in the north, with one bathroom break), and the scenery once you're off 75 is pastoral and *gorgeous.* Plan on stopping for local eggs and farm stands!Parking at the caverns is easy; we were contending with several school groups and their transportation, and still snagged a great spot. From the parking lot, you walk to the gift shop, check in at the desk, and wait with your group. You enter the cavern through a door in the shop. Our cave guide was spectacular - she genuinely seemed excited to give us and our kids a tour, and was exceptionally knowledgeable about the caves. I wish I could remember her name, she deserves heaps of praise and a pay raise. She had a great sense of humor and was interactive with the kids and families, too. Her safety warnings and instructions were informational in tone, not scary, which I appreciated. :) She also told us when good spots for photos were coming up, and gave us lots of time for pictures. Certain features within the cave are highlighted with electric lighting.I could write a whole essay about the interior of the caves themselves. We visited at the end of April, and took the Winter Tour. The first couple of areas you go into are interesting, the middle is impressive and photo-worthy, but nothing is as stunning as the last 30-40% you walk through. There's a "waterfall" you can see from the front as well as the back, impressive crystal formations on the ceilings and floors, a rainbow of coloration from the minerals in the rock walls, and moments that made my notoriously-hard-to-impress teen boys go, "Oh, WOW."Within the cave itself, there's two "look down" moments and one "lights-out" moment. If you get vertigo or feel funny looking down, skip the first "look down" moment. The floor throughout the cavern is uneven, and I definitely felt my stomach flip looking down! The lights-off moment is absolutely pitch black, so grab a neighbor to steady yourself if you need it. In general, I feel if you have difficulty negotiating or tolerating small spaces or tight fits, this cave tour may not be a good choice. The cave path is narrow, and at various points you may have to duck down because the ceiling is low. I can understand how someone may feel claustrophobic at points, but there are also large open areas within the cave that are easy to negotiate. The cave itself feels "safe" - one of the first questions my kids asked was if any rocks ever fell down. I won't ruin the joke, but the short answer is, "No."Pace yourself at the end of the cavern, as there's a LOT of steps to get up and out. Nobody rushed us, but if you need to take a break it's best to hang towards the back of the group.Restrooms on site are clean and accessible. The water smells like sulfur and iron, but that's neither here nor there. There's pavilion seating with picnic tables, but we ended up in a neighboring town for BBQ lunch. Most of the seating was taken up by school groups, so plan accordingly.Parents with younger kids, the gift shop is full of stuff they're going to want to grab and touch. Polished rocks, magnets, tiny things like that. Ask at the register about the four-cave "trail" in Ohio and get the card for your stamp and (eventual) free T-shirt.Overall, worth the ticket price and then some. I spent a great day with my family, and I could repeat the tour without feeling like I was seeing the same thing twice. Great staff, great tour :)

Going to start this off by saying that I have known about this place for over 20 years, and never had the desire to visit. My wife who visited years ago during a school field trip suggested we take the kids. Reluctantly I agree because its caverns..That being said, I was very impressed. This place has two tours, I would recommend them both if you have the time.THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO TOURS: Since there were not a lot of good reviews describing the difference between the two are:Quick note: You cannot touch, lean on, step on, climb on or over anything, or remove anything you might see. You can take pictures but video is not allowed as you are in a confined space with different heights and widths that could be very challenging carrying a phone or small child. I wish I would have brought a baby carrier for my 18 month old. Strollers are not allowed. The Historic Tour: You take a small bus just a couple minutes away to the entrance of this tour, and you learn about the history of the caverns. Before having guided tours, kids and adults could explore or do unguided tours from the late 1890s till the 1920s where artifacts were removed, walls were defaced by names of people that had visited. The Nature Tour: This tour has multiple guides and hasn't been defaced, and has almost all its natural stalactites and stalagmites, crystals, natural rust, etc. still in place on display, still actively being formed. IF YOU ARE ONLY GOING TO DO ONE TOUR THIS IS YOUR TOUR.They do have a gift store where you can buy crystals, rocks, magnetic rocks etc.. prices didn't seem to be too bad. You can also buy a bag of dirt filled for stones, arrow heads, etc. that kids and sift in water and keep. Our kids really enjoyed this and I thought they received more than I expected them too.The caverns are underground and it was about 50 degrees inside the cavern while about 80 degrees outside the caverns. So we had the kids bring hoodies and not wear Crocs as you will encounter small puddles on the tours.

The Armstrong Air & Space Museum is a unique orb-shaped museum located in western Ohio, dedicated to inspiring visitors with the history and stories of space exploration, particularly focusing on Neil Armstrong. The museum houses an array of one-of-a-kind artifacts including an Apollo 11 moon rock, Gemini VIII spacecraft, and spacesuits. While there are limited interactive areas for younger children, it's recommended for teens and older visitors who are fascinated by the Apollo missions and lunar landings.
If you're in town, definitely stop by this place. For the price, it's a good 30 min to 1 hr to spend here. Ticket prices are not expensive however when I called a few weeks ago, I was told I would get a group discount but when I came to the museum, they said they don't do that but I showed them the email and they honored it. I really appreciate them for that. Apart from that, the museum was really good. Really good stuff there. They have the actual Gemini shuttle there which was pretty cool

This was educational and fun! It had enough to do to keep my 5-year-old in 3 year old entertained. There were a couple simulators that were there that my kids enjoyed also! They have a theater with a documentary that plays but unfortunately we did not have the time to sit down and watch it. There is also a really nice gift shop there. The guys behind the counter were very nice and you could tell that they actually enjoy their jobs. We will be back again!

Very cool museum! Lots of neat and unique items. Many Neil Armstrong personal items. Even several NASA and Government projects that he was involved in. Very neat exhibit about what life was like for the Apollo 11 astronauts while in space. Things like eating, hygiene and things to kill time. Not a big museum. Can be completed in less than an hour, but there is a lot packed in (yet well displayed) and easy to walk around. There's a nice gift shop with the museum which by the time of this review should probably be done with their renovation.Well worth stopping to see!!The staff I interacted with while I was there was extremely friendly and outgoing. They were definitely proud of being there!

This museum is an absolute GEM. A small museum chock-full of amazing artifacts and stories about Neil Armstrong and the Apollo and Gemini space programs. Several of the exhibits are immersive, as well. Any lover of Aerospace history, Armstrong himself, or just history or space in general would love it here! The staff are very friendly, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Easy to get to with plenty of parking.

Nice little space museum for the first moon landing, and has some other neat displays. Great place for children I am sure. It is small for a museum and $12 for adults. Worth a detour if passing through.

I didn't expect this to be such a great muesum. I wasn't expecting a lot, but I enjoyed the whole experience. They had some pieces outside you can look at and get into before going inside. The employees are so nice and helpful. They will answer any questions you have and even ask you questions about the exhibits. They have a lot of information. There were interactive exhibits like a shuttle simulator and moon landing simulator. The gift shop was very pricey but the tickets are cheap so it balances it out some. I would recommend visiting it or even making a day trip to see it. You need at least 2 or more hours to enjoy it.

Cool place, learned a lot about Neil Armstrong and the history. Fun for the kids they loved it. If your kids are space fans, this is a good stop to check out. They even sell space ice cream. We added the first pin for where we were visiting from for Dublin Georgia on the map!!
A W — Google review
LOTS of information to read and very little interactive areas for younger children, so would recommend for teens and older, and especially for anyone fascinated with the Apollo missions and lunar landings. We were impressed with all of the displays. Had an exceptional experience listening to the Gemini VIII recap by a museum staff member. He made you feel the urgency of their situation and the level-headed response of Neil Armstrong. The film is well worth the 30 minutes it takes to view. I remember watching the landing and moonwalk as a child, but re-watching everything as an adult makes one appreciate the enormity of task at hand at the time.

Third time visiting, never gets old when you learn something new. Had my son's 4th birthday party here and the kids were very energetic. Maybe too energetic... We lost one. Otherwise it was a great time! Picked up our space ice cream and created an album cover outside the building.
Adena G — Google review
Me and my kids had a great time here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One even gave a great recommendation on where to get Hibachi and sushi. Despite all the people here for the eclipse, employees went the extra mile to make the experience great for everyone.

My wife and I live in Dayton while her cousin Jeff and his wife Beth live in Cincinnati. We met up at the museum around 2:30 on Sunday after church. Friendly, informative employees. The contents of the museum had more than I expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the documentary movie! I was 15 in 1969 when Neil and Buzz landed on and walked upon the moon! I watched it on tv, American history like I'd never seen! It saddens me when people who weren't even alive then, claim it was fake. Everything that some claim are fake have ALL been scientifically been explained. I put those people in the same boat as "flat Earthers". Enjoy the attached photos and go visit when you get the chance!

What a great place. It's kind of buried amid urban sprawl, and my GPS had a hard time finding the place. But it was totally worth it. A perfect memorial to a man who became history. To be honest, it has some downsides. It is small, and a small crowd can fill it until you can barely move. The items in the giftshop are eyewateringly expensive. Some artifacts could use better explanations. But this is a monument to a hometown hero. A monument to a good man gone too soon. The perfect man with the perfect skill set in the right place at the right time.In this time of turmoil and uncertainty, Neal Armstrong can still guide us.PS.. Getting in and out of the theater in the dark is tough. I used my phone as a flashlight.PPS. There is a surprising amount of walking. Give some thought if you have folks who are mobility impaired.
Gary C — Google review
Great space museum highlighting what we as a collective human race are able to accomplish. Also a great museum highlighting the life and times of the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong! Lots of exciting things to see, including a Gemini capsule, Apollo capsule, Apollo era spacesuit, and more! When visiting Ohio be sure to add this to your list of places to stop!
Sean Q — Google review
A most excellent museum for a pioneer of space exploration! The exhibits detail the life of Neil Armstrong, while interweaving the milestones of the space race. The actual Gemini 8 capsule is on display, as well as a moon rock! There's plenty of other Apollo artifacts too. A short film chronicles Armstrong's life. I came in with no expections, and was pleasantly surprised at my experience. If you're into aerospace, this is a must see.
Peter M — Google review
Very cool exhibits. Friendly staff. Gift shop was over the top ridiculously priced. Washrooms clean and good parking. Worth the 1.5 hours to snoop around.
J B — Google review
If you are a bit of a space geek like me, or even have a casual interest in the history of the early efforts of space exploration, this is worth checking out. In addition to providing an educational experience, there is some cool memorabilia. A nice 30 minute video tribute to Armstrong's lunar landing runs every half hour. We spent a couple of hours here, but I could easily have spent another hour and my 16 year old was ready to go after one hour. Museum has a nice flow, easy to navigate, and there is a covered pavilion with picnic tables and soda machines. Enough picture opportunities to make an impression.Very convenient if you're traveling through mid or southern Ohio on I-75. We paid a reasonable $12 admission fee and this is not a cheesey tourist trap in my opinion.
Lou C — Google review
This is a very educational experience and so interesting. It's great for kids and adults. Neil Armstrong was such a phenomenal man I did so much in his lifetime it was amazing to learn about him and about space in general. I highly recommend!!
Connie M — Google review
Nice museum dedicated to the life and accomplishments of Ohio's own Neil Armstrong. Focuses on his missions to space and overall contributions to aeronautics. Lots of artifacts and nods to other Ohioians who were integral to air and space travel. Plan on spending a couple hours navigating this nicely spaced museum.

They welcomed tourists with open arms and hosted an eclipse event. I can’t say enough about their hospitality. Museum was very interesting, with lots of unique items. Thank you for putting up with us. A memory of a lifetime.

The Armstrong Air & Space museum is a great place to visit with tons of Neil Armstrong historical artifacts. Everyone working there was very kind and the museum itself had tons of great information about Neil's history, the space race and all kinds of other related topics. I definitely recommend a visit!

The people working in this place are an absolute treasure. Full of knowledge and positivity. The planes are great too! It's amazing to see the internals of the B-17 as the guys are working on it.The WASP exhibit was a highlight, for sure.

Really great museum with a surprisingly significant aircraft collection to include a B-17 under construction, a D-Day veteran C-47, C-1A Trader, and B-25J. Their staff and volunteers are very friendly, and share a wealth of life and wartime experience. If you time your visit right and give them your time, you can work on their B-17 project. If you're nearby, please stop by!
Daniel S — Google review
Stopped in because my son loves museums and airplanes, and we had some time to kill in the area. What a hidden gem! The volunteers were welcoming, friendly and very willing to explain all aspects of their work. Very interesting seeing the restoration work in progress. Admission was free but we donated generously to support their work.
Jen L — Google review
We enjoyed this free great aviation museum, even our grandchildren loved it. We had an old curtiss-wright 16mm movie projector we donated. We're going again soon. They offer rides in the B-25 for a fee, see the website. It's north of Urbana at the north end of the airport with parking just past the restaurant. They are completely restoring the B-17, and you can get right up close, our grandchildren were able to climb into the fuselage. All museum personnel and volunteers were extremely friendly.
Blane W — Google review
This museum is awesome if you're interested in WWII airplanes. We met two WWII vets while we were there. The volunteers who work on the planes and act as hosts are fun, dedicated and incredibly knowledgeable. The awesome thing is, all of the planes are or will be flyable! They are busy building/rebuilding a B-17 from old parts and parts they are making there using Boeing specs and diagrams. We really enjoyed our visit.
Lynda S — Google review
They were setting up for a gala when we stopped by, so they had most things put away. But it was still very cool. The staff was great at answering our questions. And i loved the admission price- FREE!

This place does not have many airplanes but has plenty of history. Where else can you see volunteers restoring a B-17? I really enjoyed the section on women pilots i. WW II.
Tim B — Google review
Wonderful museum especially if your interested in plane renovation! I thought talking to the people there was incredibly rewarding. It was cool to see their workshop and how they custom make the pieces for the B-17(?) plane they are building. Restoration is the coolest part, would be awesome if they focused more on that in the museum. You could walk in one of the planes interior which was cool too.
Erin — Google review
Very awesome museum! It's an active restoration hangar, you can walk right up to the planes and speak with the staff. Definitely worth a visit! And it's free to enter!

Wow!!! What an amazing gem in this wonderful town! The amount of well presented history under one roof was surprising! The displays are beautiful and the restoration projects underway are open and available for you to get an up-close look at their painstaking work, definitely a labor of love! Worth the time to stop in and pay these guys a visit! Sign-in at the front desk of no one is there, it helps their funding for such a notable cause!

Very cool Museum. It is really nice to be able to touch and go into some of the aircraft. The restoration efforts being part of the museum was really interesting. We were given an excellent tour. I can’t wait to see the B17 Champaign Lady fly once they complete the build.

Beautiful and peaceful park. I love taking walks here. There are lots of trails if you’re feeling more adventurous or you can just walk along the paved areas.
Candy B — Google review
This is a great park for families, with so much to do here. There are playgrounds, picnic areas, and lots of trails. The covered bridge is great. There’s also a water park with slides and soccer fields. This park was much more busy than I expected it to be, but it didn’t feel crowded as it is quite spread out. The park also extends much further to the east with trails than what google maps currently shows
Thirteendays — Google review
I really hate this park mostly because I feel there's too many people there and a lot of my favorite spot is pretty crowded with people all over the place.Even up here on the corner.Still a great view but hard to enjoy sometimes.I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way.I'd also say if you are visiting Denver and are considering this park then you should check out Children's Hospital for where to park. It's easy to enjoy eating.

Beautiful park!! Great playgrounds for kids, picnic tables and benches everywhere, lots of scattered port o pots, expansive green areas, trails, covered bridge, creeks, huge shady trees... it truly is wonderful!!

We visited this park while visiting our son and this is a GEM of a park. Absolutely beautifully kept, great walking trails with your choice of surfaces (gravel, paved or grass). Friendly people and city grounds people, it made these out of staters envious of what we don’t have back home! We stopped to read most of the lovely memorials to local loved ones, which just shows the type of community spirit here in Sydney.

Great amount of trails to explore, plenty of parks scattered around for kids to play. Very fun during summer when the river water is warm enough to swim. Overall just a good experience

Beautiful park! There are a ton of trails. There are concrete ones or you can do the trails in the woods. Very clean, lots of things to see. I especially enjoyed the convered bridge. Very dog friendly! We'll definitely be back!Update* if you go past the covered bridge there are ponds with turtles, fish, and more trails!

This is the most beautiful park in the area. Hands down. Sidney is small, and we have some problems goin ons. But all in all we are lucky to have a nice town. And this park is a reason why. Please visit it. It's open year round and it is a very peaceful experience. A tip for the good spots is the very back. Off pavement and the trail less traveled always seems to have this magical feel to it. Being in the seemingly endless trees as damselflies skitter about feels like a storybook.

Good park, quite some trails. Nice little bridges and a few shelter places. A lot of people fish there. Sidney has most of their 5K's down there. God Bless

Its a very nice park. I wish there was a better choice for restrooms than all the porto johns all around. There are many different playgrounds. No 2 the exact same so plenty of options to choose from. You could walk for hours here.

One of the best parks in West Central Ohio! Paved, gravel and dirt paths of all elevations. Multiple playgrounds for kids, fishing the Great Miami River, numerous covered bridges for very photogenic areas makes this park offer something to everyone. Check it out! Fall is a great time to visit too!
Nathan M — Google review
Definitely my favorite park and certainly worth the drive as it's a big park, the grounds are very clean and multiple play grounds for kids, this park also has a few trails if you wanted to take a hike. The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is if you want to drive to the back of the park you have cross an extremely narrow road where you can barely squeeze 2 cars in and its on top of a pretty large hill

Beautiful Park. Wonderful walking trails .very eye-catching Covered Bridge. Amazing place for photographs, fishing , picnics, family reunions or just time alone..

Beautiful park. Well paved paths. Dog friendly. Lots of spots to access the water.Only negative is the lack of decent maps showing the paths- can be confusing till you’ve been around a few times!Also- the main gate seems to be closed most of the times I’ve been there, but if you drive down to the left of the gate, there is another parking lot by the playground.

Tawawa is a beautiful, extremely well maintained park. There is a large pool area with some nice size slides at the front. And it's only $5 per person for the day, starting around 1:00. Their yearly pool pass is only $37. There are plenty of pic nic areas, with grills, and places to play games with the family. Lots of walking paths and are dog friendly, but they must be leashed. And there are a couple of small lakes to fish in. Near the back is a nice place to wade in the water that runs through the park. And of course, there are portable pottys throughout the park. It's a very nice 220 acres. I will definitely keep coming back and recommend this park to everyone.

I recently moved here from Carolina's East Coast and this is the best park I've seen in all my life! Love the trails. Only had one bad experience of a person following me on one of the paths; not sure how that could be prevented though. Dogs love our walks, especially on the warm days when they can splash around in the water. Picturesque ~ perfect for the photographers. Playgrounds, fabulous views, water, wonderful levels!

After reading about this museum in a magazine, I wanted to take a tour. They have an excellent collection of rare and historic bikes, it's clean, has detailed written descriptions of the bikes, and really just shows the evolution of bikes very well

Lala M — Google review
Full of interesting bicycles. Interesting even to non bicycle enthusiasts. Clearly illustrates a forgotten period in the late 19th century when bicycles were the rage and many companies were trying innovative designs to capitalize on it.
Mike S — Google review
So worth the stop. I thought it was going to be a small museum but I was mistaken it had 3 floors of amazing bicycles throughout history. Worth the price and it had some interactive exhibits. I do wish it had some more you can interact with but it was a joy to tour through it. If you are thinking about coming here do it.

This was a super cool exhibit about the history of bicycles, with tons of unique innovative examples that have helped shape bikes to what they look like today

My husband and I are avid cyclists. We discovered this gem during a visit to the Airstream service facility. The collection of bicycles is stunning, it includes models we didn’t know existed (e.g. folding bikes used by paratroopers during WWII). We were awed by the breadth of the collection and the quality of the exhibits. If you are a cycling fan, this is a must-see!
M P — Google review
I can’t believe how many unique bikes in this collection. From “how did they ride that” to “I always wanted one as a kid”equally as impressive is the restoration that has taken place in the city due to the Crown company. Well done, must see!

A great little place to visit chocked full of history and amazing evolution of the bicycle. For $3 adult admission you can check out the huge array of bicycles and history surrounding them. There are two floors with a lot of different bikes and everything was set up beautifully. My favorite being the Pee-wee Herman bike however I did it really like the John Glenn display they had. Definitely worth the visit to a very delightful little town.

If you like bicycles and are the least bit curious how the bicycle you ride came to be, this is the place to visit. It shows the progress and innovations people have made for purposes of transportation, leisure, and competition. Also, the influence bicycles have had on US culture, industry, and military. As a bonus, New Bremen is a nice town to visit.

The Westcott House, a prairie-style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has been restored and transformed into a museum. The architect's emphasis on integrating nature into the living space is evident in the design, with windows strategically placed to offer views of the surrounding park. The house features a reflecting pool and showcases Wright's favorite color, Cherokee Red, on its brick patio and fabric awning. Visitors can explore the history of the house and its former occupants through informative tours led by knowledgeable guides.
Had a great visit! we were lucky to get there in time for a tour. The lady ( so sorry I forgot her name!) was very informative and a great story teller. The restoration work is amazing!

We had a friend come into town for the week and used that opportunity to go see this wonderful house. It starts off with a little movie, and a tour director takes you around the home. The director was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and restoration of the house. The architecture of this home is neat to see and experience the genius of the design. He used sunlight to his advantage to bring light into rooms in a spiceal way. The wood working on the built-in cabinets is amazing, and the layout is very clever. Taking into consideration the age, there is no accommodation for wheelchairs. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in homes of this style. Our tour took about an hour and a half and was well worth the price. I am now wanting to travel to other similar homes in Ohio to continue to see this master's work.

Didn't realize there was a Frank Lloyd Wright house located in Springfield til a few years ago. I'm very interested into architecture and him. I made it to Fallingwater a few years ago which was bucket list checkoff. I would have liked to went inside Westcott but am currently on a budget. Was nice to actually be able to view and appreciate the outside without costing any money.

Great tour of very nice restored Frank Lloyd Wright house. I drove by this house 25 years ago when it had been subdivided into apartments and was in really bad shape. The organization that did the restoration did an incredible job. I highly recommend the tour if this house.

Nice tour of this FLW prairie style home built in the first decade of the 1900s. It has a garage rather than a carriage house. Mr. Westcott was developing a Westcott automobile, which never apparently happened after Mrs. Westcott passed away. He also was a mayor of Springfield. Our guide John G., a Springfield native was very good, and the gift shop was amazing, maybe the best I've been in of the FLW sites I've toured.

Was driving through town and decided to do a tour and the house was really neat. It was restored a few years ago and they did a wonderful job with the place. The docent was extremely knowledgeable and spoke clearly. Her stories about the house and the family really explained the history well. It's unfortunate they don't have more of the original furniture but it's understandable why they don't and they're lucky to have the house in such great shape.

It's a nice visit if you're into architecture and specifically FLW and his masterpieces. The house is kept in great condition and the tour guides are very knowledgeable, always willing to answer questions and provide more information on demand. If it is just one family then the options you have is farm, petting/feeding animals, walking around to take pictures, maybe games depending on your interest and end up with a good treat...they have great ice cream collections and wide menu. I loved their fried cheese curds..peaches and cream was my favorite along with white cream with chocolate and Raspberry. I get to try their garlic and dill flavor (yes ice cream), for me it tasted like frozen garlic butter. If you are visiting this with few families then you can spend 4+ hours including all fun games....would recommend this place.

We met some of the family at Young's for a treat before they had to head back home out of state. We have eaten here several times but only once before at the new building and tables. There was a really nice shaded area under the porch to eat your treat. Today we got the straw berry short cake with the vanilla ice cream. The whip cream on top is a nice touch. The cake wasn't really pound cake but really just like regular cake. Also the ice cream seemed really sweet more than creamy. The strawberries were nice and fresh and delicious. I probably wouldn't order it again but would stick to the strawberry ice cream. It has always been great.

Loved this place for over 30 years. I was there when they were a small place selling awesome fresh milk. Today I had an excellent burger, the ice cream was great, cheese curds were amazing and service was extraordinary. There's so much to do now it's amazing, carousel, batting cages, tours, and more. Highly recommend .... still.

We went on a week day, but it was right after the new carousel opened and it was crazy busy! We got ice cream, the workers patiently gave my kids samples, and we had zero line to wait for ordering, and waited maybe 5 minutes for our order. We found a table outside with no issues. The kids played on the free play area, then went in the barn to see the animals. We then got 4 tickets for the carousel for $10, and adults could ride with kids for free. It was great! Also, there were workers all over each part of the property to help with any issues or questions. Definitely recommend!

We came here for a birthday party. The food was average. The attractions were cool, though. They had a pumpkin patch. We fed some farm animals and rode the gorgeous hand painted carousel 🎠 We also walked the giant corn maze, which ended with a small playground. They have a kiddie coral with slide and a bunch of things for smaller kids. The only negative, (and reason for the 4 stars for atmosphere), is that there is a slide at the playground that's at the end of the corn maze & at the bottom, it's just rocks. My daughter came down the slide fast and really hurt her butt by landing on the rocks (it was unavoidable & the rocks were the same color as the sand that was there on the ground, so it was hard to tell. They're also huge and stuck in the ground; the rocks aren't something that could be moved. I included a photo for reference.) I *HIGHLY* recommend catching your kids at the bottom, but the business should really put some cushioning down for the kids so no one else hurts themselves. This was ultimately why we ended up leaving. She got hurt pretty bad by that, which ended in tears. Otherwise, we probably would've stayed longer. There were other attractions also that we didn't end up doing but wish we could've squeezed in - like putt putt & batting cages & another big slide for the bigger kids.

We stopped here because of geocaching, so happy we learned of the place. Although very off season timing it was a great visit, always a good time to enjoy animals. Probably the best cheese curds from a restaurant I’ve ever had. Of course had to get some fresh milk and it was so good! Planning our return trip to check out the carousel when it’s put in this summer.

My husband and I went mini golfing next door then stopped by here for lunch. The ice cream here is the best. The food isn’t so great, but I’d come to the area again for mini golf and ice cream. For those with kids, they are adding a carousal too.

Homemade ice cream is without a doubt the best flavor. The sandwiches and onion rings take a little longer to serve, but they are also very tasty and should be eaten. There is a cattle barn just around the corner, which can be visited freely, and is recommended for visitors with children.

I love Young's!I've been coming here since I was a kid, and this was the first time I had been here since their new reconstruction of the main building. Everything still kinda had the feel of the original building, and all of the food was exactly the same. The ice cream and other dairy products are delicious (the baked cheese curds are amazing). The regular food is a basic and is just alright but I don't expect much from A bunch of teenagers in a kitchen. I plan on coming to Young's for many more years to come.

This wonderful place has grown immensely since its inception. It has now become a major family attraction, featuring an excellent restaurant that serves delicious sandwiches and the best homemade ice cream in the world.

I visited Young's Dairy Farm for ice cream and tried their creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cow Patty, double chocolate fudge flavors served in freshly made waffle bowls. The Chocolate Peanut Butter was a classic delight, combining rich chocolate with peanut butter. The Cow Patty flavor surprised me with its chocolaty goodness. What made the experience even better was the petting place for cows and goats, adding to the farm-fresh ambiance. Highly recommend these flavorful treats for a delicious and fun visit!

This was our first trip to Young's since the sit-down restaurant closed. The new version is a food court style layout. The food was good and the ice cream was excellent, the atmosphere was loud and hectic. All in all well worth an occasional trip from the Columbus Metro area.

You're just gonna have to come here. We showed up at 730pm on a Tuesday and there was still so much to do.Hit some balls in the batting cageHit some golf ballsPet some farm animalsAnd ate some foodTry the curd burger. It was great. Also bought a cheese curd sampler. Every flavor was amazing. Their chocolate milk is also great, drank half a gallon on the drive home.

This is a great family stop when visiting the area. They have expanded since the last time I came here a few years ago. The ice cream still tasted good like I remember. There’s plenty of parking and the line for the food was long, but moved fast.

We stopped here after a recommendation from a friend + the Visit Ohio commercial! Ice cream was fantastic , but other food was diner quality and a bit underwhelming. Gift shop is small and lacking in variety outside of the dozen of types of cheese (lactose sensitivity, so I couldn’t partake). We walked around and there was plenty to do and see. Love the Ice cream themed horses on the carousel!

Young's Dairy.. just WOW. A childhood iconic place, did not disappoint!! I grew up in Xenia, and Young's Dairy had been part of my culture since I was a kid! My wife has never been here so this experience for her was eye candy for the senses. Everyone behind the counter was working their tails off and what an operation of efficiency it was. The ice cream was better than I remember, the atmosphere was busy, fun and well done. Thank you Young's Dairy for bringing my childhood memories back to life and you've gained a new follower on my wife as she enjoyed her 1st experience!

Great place for families, homeschool, or school outings. The food is good but the ice cream is better. I had the single, double buckeye. Had I realized it was only a dollar cheaper than the double, I would have gotten the double. It was delicious 😋. My daughter and I went there after hiking at John Bryan State Park. I got some sort of chicken sandwich with fries. It was just OK. My daughter got chicken strips and fries. Her chicken was better than the chicken on my sandwich. Ultimately, the ice cream was my favorite!

Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Limestone & dolomite gorges offering varied hiking paths, some with wooden walkways & lookouts.
Great place to hike with a lot of interesting geology and history. The trails are well maintained, and relative easy. Parking can be a challenge near Clifton. I find it easier to park at John Bryan State Park and hike through (the trails connect), but ymmv depending on how long and how difficult you want your hike to be. No pets allowed here. There are restrooms at the Nature Center.

Love this park! Great trails with babbling Brooks, waterfall, and some easy to more challenging trails. Love that they do their best to preserve the habitat too. Plenty of miles to hike! Have to go back and explore more.

This is a beautiful area surrounded by miles of trails. You can see waterfalls and cross the river at low points with bridges. Beautiful scenery and greenery are the focus. Trails are paved which makes it easy for families with small children. Lots of places to rest and overhangs from which to see the beautiful area. Lots of history and landmarks can be seen throughout the miles of trails

A pretty like oasis just outside of Yellow Springs! Scenic, well maintained trails with a variety of landscapes. The John L. Rich trail in particular is a beautiful hike along the river with many overlooks, interesting rock formations, and access to the river. Trail is easy-moderate with stairs and some rocky terrain. Be prepared for weekends in the spring and summer to be more crowded.

Love the diverse ecology. Upper trail looking into the gorge. The lower trail near the water. It butts up against another park so it can be a long or short hike. Plenty of photo ops. Every season brings changes to the hike.

Wow! What a gem! We decided to check this out on a Saturday afternoon and we had the best time. The trail isn't the easiest, but it's well marked and well maintained. The views from both up on the rim trail and from down along the gorge are unbeatable. We stopped at the nature center both before and after our hike and learned a lot about the history of the area, the geology of the area, and the many animals that call Ohio home. We hope we can come back and explore some more another day.

As an avid hiker I frequent a lot of parks, nature preserves and trail systems. Over the past 40 years I've hiked thousands of miles. I lead into this review with that to let folks know this particular hike is one of my favorites. Clifton gorge, especially the narrows is one of the most beautiful hikes in Ohio. The trail system hooks into another one of my favorites John Brian SP. All together it is about 7 miles 3.5 hours of hiking to do the whole loop. The trail itself is medium difficulty and there is some dangerous areas, yet if one stays on trail it isn't nothing to be intimidated by. Take your time, take a camera, water and snack. Do the whole loop... you will not be disappointed.

One of the best hiking areas in Ohio. The Narrows are beautiful and reminiscent of those in more mountainous states. The trails were well-maintained and the naturalist was very informative.

An absolutely beautiful place to visit. The sights are just amazing! We typically plan a day, pack a backpack with snacks & drinks & make an entire day out of it.We start at Clifton Gorge and walk into John Bryan to the farthest bridge. Cross over & return. We've hiked those trails many, many times in the past 17 years & it never gets old!

Whether you're an avid hiker, a wildlife enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, this preserve offers a memorable experience that will leave you in awe of Ohio's natural beauty.

Some of the views of the Gorge are just stunning! I'd say if you're not really out for a hike, and just want to see some nice views of nature, just stop at the parking lot by the mill. It's a very short walk from there to the viewing platforms. The trail at the Narrows/Gorge does sort of run along a street, so the hiking isn't great in this area per say, but the views are really gorgeous. The trails get better as you get deeper into the preserve. There aren't restrooms here, but there are at the nature center which you can hike to. Lots of parking here as well, as can be seen in one of my photos.

An excellent place to hike with lots of re-visitability. Be warned, some of the trails are quite rocky, slippery, and might be hard for someone with limited mobility. But some of the trails are level and well maintained walking paths. But not paved.

This was a very nice hike. Absolutely beautiful trail. It was longer than I thought it would be. Had to cut it a little short since it was getting dark. I hiked down to the river and then along the river. Coming back along the rim trail. I definitely recommend this trail. Just be warned that you probably won't ha e cell service. Which isn't a bad thing since it means you can actually experience the trail in peace.

As always, this area is spectacular it’s so peaceful and beautiful. I’ve been able to hike this park during all four seasons and fall is by far my favorite. Clifton Gorge, State, Nature, preserve, and John Bryan State Park do not have any type of entry fee, but Glen Helen nature preserve does because it is private and so far I have hiked every trail on Glen, Helen, and every trail in John Bryan, except for the mountain bike trail, and I have hiked, every trail in Clifton Gorge.FINALLY—for any climbers 🧗♂️They have specific Cliff climbing areas and anchor points along certain trails—usually on the upper rim trails. There are specific placards in place to mark the anchor areas(SEE PICS-Las couple)

I try to support local farmers. I stopped at Fulton Farms for corn on the cob, cantaloupe and watermelon. I left with nothing. The ears of corn were small and dried out, I found a watermelon and cantaloupe. I went to pay for them, the watermelon was a small/mediumish round size, they considered it large and was going to cost me $10.99! I said I did not want it. So then I was going to get the cantaloupe only, but they would not take my debit card because I was under their limit. I went to my local IGA and bought cantaloupe, corn on the cob plus a couple of extra items, they were out of watermelon, and spent less than what their watermelon alone would have cost me. I am no stranger to local farmer's markets, I used to live in Logan County and frequented Hurley Farms, an amazing farmer's market! Unfortunately I have found nothing that compares to them around here as of yet. I will not go back to Fulton Farms.

Was at the market and could not believe all of the options they had for fresh fruits and vegetables among other things. It has really grown over the years. I was also pleasantly surprised how beautiful the hanging plants and flowers were. The customer service was outstanding. It's nice to have grown up in small town Troy and be able to get farm fresh produce and know where exactly it comes from. The Fulton family and their employees are all very attentive and so kind. Will be visiting this weekend for their sidewalk sale. Keep up the great work ...looking forward to upcoming events.

Went to the sweet corn fest too late accidentally & didn’t know the corn maze costed money (i go to a free corn maze every year 10 minutes away at Lost Creek). i went to the market first & no one told me they were shutting down so i went to the corn maze next & there was literally live music playing 20 feet from the corn maze entrance & no workers mentioned it costing money or it being too late. after going through the corn maze, the owner approached me & asked if i paid for the corn maze & said i was trespassing & told me to just go & not come back twice & that she spent 5,000 dollars on the corn maze & that “we know it costs money” like no most the corn mazes i’ve been to were free 😂 instead of simply asking for 10 dollars she wanted to ruin a customer of multiples years experience & get a bad review 👍🏻 will not be returning. greedy & tacky.

I drove all the way out here to find they didn't accept the Senior Farmers Market card, nor do they accept the EBT card. Waste of time and gas. I did look around the place and decided that everything was extremely expensive for being a "local" farm. I don't pay those kinds of prices for produce shipped halfway across the country - why pay for it if it's local growers.?
Sandee A — Google review
Oh yeah! Picked up sweet corn, banana chocolate chip walnut bread, strawberry preserves and apple butter! AWESOME!

After verifying on the website, we drove from Columbus to pick strawberries - been looking forward to it all week! Get to the farm and notice the fields were closed, so we asked someone if there were any packaged strawberries we could at least buy. The woman we spoke to was very dismissive and rude, telling us that they had closed the fields yesterday (just didn’t feel like updating on their website) and shipped the packaged ones off to retailers. She did inform us, however, that the peas were available. This was great news, since peas and strawberries are basically the same thing! Really looking forward to our pea shortcakes and making some pea jam! Anyways, next time we’ll probably just stay in the city - no need to spend the gas and time to experience the same abusive consumerism that we can get at home….

This is one of my favorite sanctuaries to visit. It has a lot of hiking trails that wind around little creeks and ponds through the tall beautiful trees. Not to mention the wildlife that you get to visit in their cages; owls, vultures, crows, a bobcat, coyote and let's not forget the eagles. It also has a pond full of turtles, beautiful orange fish and let's not forget the croaking frogs that are everywhere around the pond. There are also seating available for taking breaks throughout the trails. Brukners is definitely a sanctuary for relaxing and taking in all the beautiful surroundings. The only reason I'm giving a 4 ⭐ is the fact that there are no restrooms and/or port-a-johns. So make sure to tinkle before coming 🙂

Brukner has been a family favorite for the last ten years. One of the few rehab centers in the area with wildlife ambassadors for the many educational opportunities they provide. Trails are nice and not too worn. Mosquitoes can be an issue in the heat of summer especially on the lower trails - bring the bug spray. Pets are not allowed which is nice for enjoying the peacefulness of nature. The crows will talk to you!

Its been a long time since I've been here! Went on a Monday around 5:30 pm. No crowd at all! There were several trails to choose from displayed on a map posted in clear view. The trails are marked as well. There were animals to view along the trail which included birds, a coyote, etc. No dogs allowed which is understandable. The trails could probably get muddy after a rain and are kinda narrow. The website says they are open until 4pm but this is for the visitor building. Trails are open through sunset. This was a great experience!

This place is uhmazing, awesome place for children. Loved it, only $2.50
Kera M — Google review
Okay for $2.50 this place does have a lot of amazing things to see I just have two complaints. This place is really inaccessible. I have a one year old and I thought it would be nice to take her on a walk on the trails I put her in her stroller and it went well for a while. The trail is maintained fairly well but it was such a pain to get through. The stroller was tipping over because it’s uneven in some parts or getting stuck on roots and rocks which was fine it’s a trail I mean 🤷🏻♀️ but then we got to the part in the pictures. How is anyone suppose to get through here with a kid under 3? You’d have to carry them. I just think there should be a warning on their site that it is not stroller friendly. Even the building isn’t. You can see maybe six exhibits on the first floor but to get to the other floors you have to go up or down stairs. So if you are planning on bringing your kiddo who needs a stroller don’t. It’s such a pain. I had to pick up her stroller multiple times to get through the trail and then put it away all together to go in to the nature center.

We love Brukner Nature Center so much we are lifetime members! We love walking the trails and visiting the animals both inside and out. We have celebrated birthdays here and have always enjoyed our time here. Can’t recommend becoming a member enough. I will say that the trails seem to be under construction and repair a lot recently but that doesn’t surprise me with the weather we’ve had the last couple of years.

Beautiful trails. Interesting they rehab animals although the coyote and the bobcat need to be released or they need to go to much larger enclosures!! It’s not good to see the coyote anxious and wearing a trail in the dirt going around in circles.

This is a well maintained place to visit. Nice walking trails, and an area to view animals in various phases of rehabilitation in order to be released back into the wild are in the outside areas. Inside there are more captive reptiles, amphibians, and birds on display, and plenty of information displays. There are also interactive areas geared towards children. There is an area to watch birds feeding ( the birds are outside ) on the 2nd floor with comfortable seating if one is into bird watching. All in all, this is a good place to spend some time relaxing and enjoying nature.

Brukner Nature Center was GREAT! There's so many trails here. Definately a good place for excercise. Some of the trails are really steep which makes for a good work-out on the legs. And let's not forget the animals that are here. AWESOME! Definately a great place for children. They would love the different types of birds housed here. I will be bringing my grandsons next time. The scenery is really gorgeous. It's peaceful, quiet and relaxing. They also have seating along the paths which are needed for those steep climbs 🚶 I will be returning.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force houses a vast array of aircraft, military artifacts and exhibits on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base just outside Dayton. The museum is huge, and visitors can explore everything from displays covering Air Force Art to world war II bomber jackets to hundreds of whole aircraft. The museum has an on-site cafe that's a great place to rest after a long day of exploring.
Unbelievable experience as this place is just amazing. The sheer scope of the exhibits are amazing, and the quantity of information is very educational. Takes at least two full days to see everything. Took my 95 year old Dad here who was in the Air Force from 1946-49. He loved seeing the B-29 as he was the radar guy on one, as he pointed out the hatch he had to enter through. He also loved the Berlin Air Lift exhibit since he took part in that.
David B — Google review
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is an absolute treasure for anyone fascinated by aviation, military history, or advanced technology. The museum is packed with an impressive range of aircraft and exhibits, but what really sets it apart are the rare gems on display, particularly the SR-71 Blackbird and the B-2 Spirit bomber.Standing next to the SR-71 is an unforgettable experience—this aircraft, with its sleek lines and reputation for being one of the fastest and highest-flying planes ever built, is simply awe-inspiring. The museum’s detailed exhibits really give you a sense of just how groundbreaking this aircraft was. And the B-2 Spirit is equally remarkable. This stealth bomber’s cutting-edge design is both imposing and fascinating, giving visitors a rare opportunity to see such a technological marvel up close. One of the highlights of the museum is its extensive display of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). These massive missiles tell the story of Cold War tensions and nuclear deterrence, and it’s incredible to see them up close. The museum does an excellent job of explaining the historical significance of these weapons while keeping the exhibits accessible and engaging.Overall, the museum is incredibly well-organized, with knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to share their expertise. There’s so much to see, from World War I planes to cutting-edge modern aircraft, and the interactive displays keep you engaged throughout. In my opinion, this is the best aviation museum in the world, and I’ll definitely be a repeat visitor. If you love aircraft or military history, this museum is an absolute must-see!

The Air Force museum is an awe-inspiring place. It is so awesome that parking and entry are both free. They could easily charge $10-15/person and probably not lose any visitors. The staff and volunteers were all so polite and so much help. It was also wonderful that they had wheelchairs and motorized scooters for use with no rental fees.... this was much nicer than the $40 I spent for a scooter at the zoo. The only criticism I have is that there is almost too much to see in one day. This could easily be a 2-day (or 3) adventure if you wanted to read and listen to all of the displays. It is so interesting to see all of the planes out Air Force has used and especially neat to see a lot of the experimental jets. You are able to walk through various planes that were used for several presidents. In addition, my grandfather was a waist-gunner in a B24, and I was able to see the plane and the actual window where the tail gunner shoots. This will definitely be a repeat trip any time I am in the Dayton area.

If you love aviation and/or military history, you will absolutely love this national treasure. It's so extensive, so awesome in size, 19 acres packed with US air force planes, war histories & personalities from WW1 to the space age that you will be overwhelmed and exceedingly pressed for time.On multiple road trips from Florida to Michigan, we drove right through Dayton, Ohio, north on Interstate 75 but never stopping. This time, we did, and man o' man we were blown away. It's absolutely huge. There are 19 massive halls, and we only managed to see three in two hours. Good thing the museum is free, because we plan on stopping there again on our way home next week. Even then, we will not have seen half of it. Yeah, it's that colossal. And the presentation is fantastic.

Completely flawless museum. 100% the best I’ve ever been to. When I went my expectations were low because I’m not much of an aviation person, but I was just blown out of the water by how good it was. 4 whole massive rooms of planes, missiles, rockets, helicopters, etc. And the best thing is that entry to the museum costed nothing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming through Ohio.

Took my family and we had an amazing time. Even if you are only slightly interested in airplanes, you will be in awe.My knowledge of aviation comes from video games and movies, so I am far from an expert. But that didn’t stop me from being in awe from multiple planes in each gallery. If you live within driving distance, it is 100% worth taking a day to visit. The staff was as friendly a staff as we could have ever hoped for.I loved it, my wife loved it, and our son loved it. Couldn’t have asked for anything better

This was my first visit in nearly 15 years. What an outstanding display with so much aviation history, free to the public. It is easily a long day event for a cursory view of everything but multi-day for a richer experience. There is a very nice gift shop and an assortment of cold cut meals at the café above. Hot food options would make for the best experience.

The Air Force Museum is an extraordinary place, brimming with fascinating and one-of-a-kind exhibits. With four massive hangars and additional side displays, it offers an immersive experience that can take hours to fully explore. For those who may need assistance, scooters are available, and free tours are offered, along with plenty of interactive activities to engage visitors. The museum’s aircraft collection is truly impressive, spanning generations—from the pioneering days of the Wright brothers to cutting-edge experimental jets. In 2023, the museum celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking its growth from a modest engineering collection in 1923 to becoming the world's largest military aviation museum.Run by the nonprofit Air Force Museum Foundation, which operates independently of the government and the Department of Defense, the museum is expansive, and taking the time to admire each aircraft could easily fill an entire day. Thankfully, parking and entry are free, and the helpful, courteous staff—both employees and volunteers—ensure a smooth visit. The availability of wheelchairs and motorized scooters at no charge is an added benefit. There’s an incredible array of planes used throughout Air Force history, including several experimental models. One of the highlights is the chance to step aboard aircraft that once served U.S. presidents. With so much to see, it’s almost impossible to take it all in during one visit, but every moment spent here is deeply rewarding for aviation enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

Huge place, takes hours if you are actually looking at every aircraft. Kitchen is closed for renovation...bummer because we were their all morning and 2 hrs after lunch. Lunch was cold sandwich with chips and drink. Museum display is impressive. We'll kept building and aircraft. 100 degrees outside but VERY cool and comfortable inside. If you're into aviation be sure to make the trip. Will add photos once they are downloaded

It was very interesting & educational! Highly recommend! It's free, but donations are accepted. The tour guide was so knowledgeable & helpful! 👏🏻My 3 & 1/2 grandson had such a good time ♥️Plenty of bathrooms and water fountains. We brought a picnic lunch & ate in the park. It is right by the parking lot.

We always love to visit this place. There are lots of things to see and learn. They have an impressive collection of airplanes spanning multiple generations and ranging from early flight days of the Wright brothers to the new experimental planes. They even have a B2 stealth bomber which is fantastic to behold!

Absolutely loved the National Air Force Museum. I did not expect it to be as vast as it was along with how many A/C are there. I would highly recommend for any individual or family. They air and space sections throughout the museum as well as plenty of military Aircraft and space crafts. They have an assortment of WWII planes from the US as well as Japan and Germany. They have a holocaust section that's really nice but I just wish it were a little bit bigger with more detail. The gift shop is also really nice although a little pricey but it is a not for profit museum so you can expect to pay a premium. All in all absolutely beautiful and put together wonderfully. I give it 100 stars.

Without a doubt the best museum I have been to yet!A huge display of aircraft including presidential planes and NASA pieces. The highlights include the original B-29 and the B-52.Probably spent around 3 hours looking around, still plenty of bits I did not see on the day.Free entry and parking!

Very impressed with all the planes, all organized by flight era. From the wright brothers to the sr-72 to the rockets, there are Many excellent exhibits to look through. Not many food options, eat before you go. There’s a huge park with interesting sculptures and picnic tables. Be prepared for lots of walking and several hours to see everything. So impressive. Worth the drive to come visit.

Wonderful is an understatement. You'll easily need a couple of full days to fully explore all the history here. Free entrance, free parking, and free electric scooters if you need one. Don't forget to schedule watching the movies. USAF Retired...it was great to see a model of each aircraft that I trained on and worked on during my 20 years of service. A7, b52 bomber, Fb-111, f-4, f-16 and f-15. I flew both the f-15 and the f-16. Wow! What an experience.

Such an amazing experience for young and old. Free parking and free admission make this an affordable family outing. So many amazing exhibits. I should wait until I'm more than halfway through to post this because I could add so many more pictures. This is a must see!

Really cool place to visit. Could have easily spent 2 days there, reading all the history and info on the aircraft. Free to get in, kids loved it too. Only thing we'd do differently next time is pack a cooler lunch and get I tout of the car midday to enjoy on the picnic tables 😊

I am a huge fan of this museum. You could easily spend an entire day here, if not two! The fact that it is free is even better. Parking and entry are both easy. If you plan on staying an entire day it might not be a bad idea to bring lunch though as the food options are lacking. The staff are all incredibly nice as well.As a side note, there are a few outdoor exhibits that people seem to forget about. If the weather is nice they are worth looking at.

Dove 650 miles to see this museum. It was well worth it. It's free!!! Get there early, open at 9 am est. Take your time. You can see everything in about 5-6 hours. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. If you have trouble walking distance, get a scooter at the entryway. I wished I had. Enjoy.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton is an absolute gem offering free admission, making it accessible to everyone. Housing over 360 aircraft and missiles, it stands as the world’s largest military aviation museum. The exhibits span from the early days of flight to modern stealth technology, featuring iconic planes like the SR-71 Blackbird, the B-17 “Memphis Belle,” and several presidential aircraft, including the SAM 26000 Air Force One.The museum provides an enriching experience with interactive displays and detailed information, catering to both novices and experts. It’s family-friendly with activities for all ages. The layout is intuitive with clear signage guiding you through aviation history. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, and there’s an on-site café for convenience. Plan to spend at least a full day to fully appreciate all it has to offer.

The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is dedicated to fostering a love of science in all visitors. The center features exhibits for kids of all ages, as well as permanent exhibits designed specifically for older audiences. There is also a planetarium, live animal zoo, and gallery for temporary exhibits on site.
We initially thought and had read that this museum was only for toddlers. Much to our surprise the museum was very interactive, clean, well designed, and loads of fun. Went with 4 adults, 1 toddler, and two teenagers and we had a blast. The planetarium exhibit was amazing and educational. The toddler area and exploration was so clean and super cute. I can see why people would think that this place was only for toddlers because they put a lot of effort into this section. The other exhibits such as the zoo and the dinosaur area were fantastic. Best of all, they offered a big discount for military. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!

I had heard about this museum and it was highly recommended so I decided to take my kids here. My 1.5 year old absolutely fell in love with the life size lite bright wall. My older kids loved the playground they had. Their favorite part was the pizza making display and the recycling truck. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone that may be questioning if they should go. There is so much to do! We went an hour after opening and it wasn’t packed at all, of course by the time we were done there were way more people. There is a cafe on the top floor. There is also a gift shop right by where you check in. Please take your kids, this was an awesome experience!

We had a great time here. We saw the science experiments, and my daughter explored the whole place. We used the zoo reciprocal, and it was a 100% discount for our location! We also saw the otter feeding. The paleo lab was a little hidden, but that made for a quiet visit. My daughter enjoyed the grilled cheese, but for the kids' meal, it was only half a grilled cheese. I thought the prices were reasonable until the food came out. The tiny toilets and lower sinks with step stool were so helpful for my 4 year old. It wasn't very busy. A worker mentioned it is normally busier.

Great afternoon outing for kids of all ages. Lots of hands-on activities meant for the little ones to discover and explore. Youngest really liked the area where she could play veterinarian. Oldest enjoyed watching the animals. Worth the trip for sure.

My 8 year old and I loved this place. We drove up on a random Tuesday afternoon and enjoyed a planetarium show, the otter feeding, the tree house, the Egyptian mummies and so much more. It's a geared more as children's museum however the presentation is very educational for adults while still remaining approachable for children. If you're thinking about going go, it's very much worth it. This is one of the best museums I've been to in years.

This is a super nice all purpose museum. This museum has a little bit of everything. Science, live animals, space, puzzles and games, American Indians, ancient Egypt, mummies, world weather, legos, car racing, a pizza shop, car repair zone, forestry, recycling, etc. They even have a large theatre. I was quite amazed at the variety that you can explore. Definitely geared towards the younger folk, but anyone can walk away learning something here.Disappointingly, several of the displays in the water area and the space area are in need of maintenance as the interactive displays were not functioning or not functioning as intended. These need to be addressed quickly so that patrons don’t lose interest and stop patronizing this museum. Good maintenance and functioning exhibits are essential to a thriving museum. Generally the museum i colorful and inviting. Staff was pleasant.

Boonshoft is an amazing museum for kids! I was highly impressed when thinking about comparable museums in larger cities. Booneshoft has always been a place I’ve loved taking my kids to. All of the hands on learning tools and toys are a hit! Of course the 3 story jungle gym to climb on when they need to run off some energy is a must! The animals, the ancient artifacts (mommies and fossils) to the planetarium makes a full day of fun!

This place has tons of potential for children, my kids loved it, BUT.. they also had many moments of disappointment as there are quite a few exhibits with broken / non responsive (that are supposed to be) buttons, images, computers etc... the water area is basically non functional as far as the interactive bits go and the tree house binoculars have seen better days. The staff was friendly and the place opens the eyes of wonder ... Just wish some basic repairs were made. Most of what is broken, realistically should not be hard to fix nor expensive.

I took my one year old here and she had a blast. They have activities for a wide range of ages. I even found this museum to be very interesting. Very informative but also fun. I also brought my stroller with us I had no problem using it throughout the entire museum. There is an elevator available to get to the second floor. The bathrooms were clean and there was even a room available for breastfeeding.

Love this museum!!! The activities are so diverse and there is so much to see and do for kids of all ages. The children enjoyed all of the play stations (the foam block room and animal hospital were a couple favorites) and we were surprised how many animals they had. The kids especially loved getting to touch a snake and seeing a few others in an animal encounter. The museum has a nice layout and the smaller size keeps it from being overwhelming. It was pretty busy the day we went but the children didn’t have any issues participating in any of the play zones. They have a solid snack bar with reasonable prices and some pretty cool stuff in the gift shop. I haven’t had a chance to check out one of the laser light shows yet but it is next on the list!! 100% you should check this place out!!

The Dayton Art Institute is a world-class art museum with an extensive collection spanning 5,000 years of art history. The building is modeled after Renaissance Italian architecture and sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Dayton. General admission is free, with the exception of some special exhibitions which may have an admission fee.
Nice museum with two floors of art. The upper floors go through the history of art with the lower floors housing a variety of exhibits. The art and architecture are all nice. There's a small central garden with a fountain and some benches to relax. The gift shop is pretty standard for an art museum.

I visited the museum for the first time this past weekend and can say it’s definitely worth visiting at least once. The building is beautiful and has a nice view of the city, it’s very clean and well maintained, and the staff was friendly. The museum is small and mostly featured artwork from lesser known artists, however there were plenty of interesting pieces and they did have a Monet painting and a couple Van Gogh’s. I only wish the museum was bigger, but if you don’t mind the size, it is a relaxing way to spend two hours if you are an art lover.

World class Art museum here in Dayton, Ohio. Walk around outside the museum before you go in to see all of the art and sculptures located here. See the Dayton skyline as well. Don't miss the surly Lion statue that stands guard over the museum and see if you can make him smile!! There the is an awesome Masonic Temple and a Greek Orthodox Church next door so check them out too!!

A museum that Dayton is lucky to have. You'll find Hopper, Monet, Ruben, Degas, and more. The collection ranges from American art to European art, Oceanic art, fine glass, and more. Be sure not to miss the Hale Cloister - a serene oasis in Dayton. It's one of my favorite places I've discovered. The rotating exhibits are great as well. So far, I've caught fantastic exhibits on Toulouse Lautrec and Edward Hopper.Additionally, right now (summer 2024), admission is free for military members and their families as part of the Blue Star museums network.

This is a must see! It took me about 2 hours to get through the entire museum both upper & lower levels, this was taking appropriate time on certain arts I was quite fond of & lesser time on others. They have elevators if needed on each floor & a wonderful gift shop near the entry/exit area. They do have security and do go through your bags, as well as a coat closet to hang your winter coat up at. I loved that! I did not purchase tickets in advance, and I went on a Wednesday midday, however I did call beforehand to ensure they were open. I believe the sign said that they were closed on Monday & Tuesday’s. They had clean restrooms on each level. You are allowed to take pictures, although they do not allow flash photography, or videos. You can also become a member, and round up your ticket purchase to donate to the museum which I love supporting the arts! I utilized the over 50 discount & paid just $10 to get in & parking was free & close by. This was so worth it, and I’d like to go back when I have a bit more time to fully appreciate what I may have missed. You really must check it out! Enjoy the pictures I’ve added below just know they don’t do them justice compared to seeing them live and in person, or up close and personal plus that way you can find out who the artist is, and other important details that I did not mention. Did I say how clean & impeccable the place looked? It was spotless! Gotta love that!

The Dayton Art Institute is a great place to take your special occasion pictures. The esthetics are gorgeous, the location is perfect, and you will cherish the images for life. We had the opportunity to meet up with our Giddaughter for Prom pictures. I didn't realize it would be so busy with students from all school districts taking pictures as well. We found great spots to capture her senior prom photos. I highly recommend the Dayton Ark Institute as the place to be for awesome backgrounds and cool vibes before your cherished events.

The Dayton Art Institute is a small but well organized and interesting art gallery.Set in a semi-circular arrangement the art in the main galleries follows a chronological order of western art.The best part of the display is the explanation next to each painting that describes the scene, exposed details or hidden elements, or something about the artistic technique. It is worth a visit and easily combined with a visit to the Dayton Aviation Heritage sites.

A nice stroll thru the rooms of art makes a rainy day feel beautiful. The gals at the admission desk handed us a map and highlighted the works of art to take notice of.We had to open our purses for the security to look in and we then we started our walk. The do have a coat room and lockers for you to use. They give you a key if you want a locker. The gift shop is a great way to end your trip thru the museum. You can purchase something to drink and a light snack box from Dorothy Lane Market. There is an area with tables and chairs to enjoy your food.

I had my wedding at the Dayton Art Institute in the fall of 2022, it was an amazing experience. We worked one on one with Beth for most of the planning and she was our day-of coordinator, she did an amazing job and made my day so much less stressful. Everything ran so smoothly, not to mention how beautiful the venue was. We had our ceremony In the hale cloister and our reception in the gothic. Our guests had fun perusing the exhibits as well. I cannot recommend the DAI enough, it was the perfect wedding venue.

DAI hosted our wedding reception during the total solar eclipse earlier this month. It was the perfect venue, having both indoor and outdoor spaces meant our reception could go on regardless of weather. (luckily that wasn't necessary)The staff we worked with were super helpful. Even with a coordinator change a few months before they wedding, they made sure our new coordinator was up to speed on everything and helped everything go off without a hitch. They also were more than kind to open up any closed exhibits the day of and show us around the place to ensure we had all the pictures they wanted. The art was also very beautiful there, they made a great addition to our wedding photos. We definitely recommend DAI to work with to have as a reception venue for your wedding!

Carillon Historical Park is a 65-acre historical park located in Dayton, Ohio that showcases the many important innovations in transportation that have originated from the area. The Park contains 25 historically significant buildings, including the 1905 Wright Flyer III, the world's first practical airplane and National Historic Landmark, as well as exhibits about Dayton's contributions to World War II. The park also features a brewery and an exhibit about the 1913 flood that struck Dayton.
I had a lot of fun exploring the park and museums. It took about 2.5 hours to get through about half of the park. There's more buildings than I could fit in a single trip. Not sure if there's enough left to warrant a second trip but I'd recommend visiting once if you're in the area.

Great Historical Park, with a lot of important historical information. Huge area to explore and find your favorite place. Love how stuff is maintaining the whole park, especially how clean the toilets are here. Also we really enjoyed the Train ride. This is our family's second visit (we are from Indiana). We love this place with old houses that everyone can come into and listen to historical stories about people who lived there or worked. I highly recommend visiting this Park with family or friends.

Great variety of Dayton related historical artifacts and presentations, highly recommend a stop. Displays range from the Wright Brothers cycling and aviation work (including their 1905 flyer on display) to impressive transportation displays with very old autos, trains, and wagons. The oldest standing house in Dayton is here too, along with old schoolhouse, mill, and other displays. I was very impressed and spent hours here. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.

First time visiting here. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Didn't get to explore everything, there is so much to explore. Definitely will go back to explore more of the park. The Cafe is absolutely off the charts amazing. The Culp Burger & fires were amazing. I tired the phosphate blue raspberry drink & it was amazing. Definitely would recommend visiting & eating here. It is somewhat expensive at the Cafe, but I believe worth the money. Entry into the park is reasonable price as well.

I didn't know what to expect, but this is a really nice park. I went for the Wright Bros Museum but all the other stuff was equally fascinating. Lots of exhibits scattered throughout period buildings really made for an enjoyable afternoon. The brewery on property is also nice and serves old fashioned sodas in addition to beer and German food.

We stopped here for a couple hours on the way back to Wisconsin from Dayton, and we were pleasantly surprised! The cash registers were very fascinating and a really cool look into the history of commerce in this country. Some of the museum inside felt a bit like capitalistic propaganda at times, but that's how these old products were sold in those times and it was fascinating nonetheless. We also checked out the Wright museum and the old houses and school house as well as the train museum here. The tour of the Wright brothers' first few planes was really great. Seeing the reconstruction of the 1905 flyer was really awe inspiring. The amount of human ingenuity on display in this museum was palpable and really hit home as to the huge strides in technology we've been achieving over the last 200+ years. The train museum was also really fun to see. Going inside the old trains and imagining how traveling worked back in those times was also really great to see.For some reason, this museum made for a more impactful experience of human history than a lot of other museums out there. It's a museum of human progress and human genius instead of human setbacks and human tragedies. I really enjoyed it and the next time we're in Dayton with the kids, we'll for sure be going back and maybe take a train tour of the grounds next time!

Carillon Historical Park is an absolute gem, blending rich history, innovation, and natural beauty into a seamless experience. The park is beautifully maintained, with each exhibit, including the awe-inspiring 1905 Wright Flyer III, thoughtfully curated to offer comprehensive insights into the region's significant past. What truly enhances the visit are the very friendly employees, who eagerly approach visitors with fascinating information about the exhibits, adding depth and engagement to the experience. A delightful surprise is the on-site printing company that crafts cards with kids' names free of charge, a charming touch that delights both young visitors and their families. Additionally, the Carillon Brewing Co. provides a taste of history with its historically accurate brewing process, making it the perfect spot to conclude a day of exploration. Carillon Historical Park is not just about revisiting the past; it's a vibrant, educational outing where history comes alive through passionate storytelling, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in exploring America's rich technological and cultural heritage in a beautifully curated and welcoming environment.

Absolutely incredible experience. So well done and not campy in any way. Anybody with any sort of historical or engineering bent will get so much out of this. Amazed its not more well known. One piece of advice, the train ride is nice if you dont mind spending an extra $5 per person to get an overview but the real magic is walking through the town. EVERY door is open, explore all the buildings. Just top notch family fun.

Carrillon Park is an incredible place to visit and has souch history! It is very similar to green field village in Michigan (it has historical houses, a train ride, and centers around a historical figure or two). It was so interesting to learn of Daytons history and all the people who made it special. Everything was well kept, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend visiting if you come by Dayton, OH!

Please visit this place. It is magical in my opinion. It tells the history of Dayton and the many product innovations from this area. You will learn about the Mr. and Mrs. Deeds and the Carillon Bells, The Wright Brothers, NCR National Cash Register Company. Watch the animationic play. It will explain everything. There is an amazing old time printing press shop. That's a must see. I just can't list all of the great historical sites you will see there. Some of the sites have people that work there that are dressed in period clothing to talk about life back in the early start of Dayton. They have a beautiful train and carousel. There is an American Eagle nest on site. The Culp's Cafe has train inside of it that you can choose a table in. The food is amazing. Try the old time phosphate drinks. So refreshing! Please visit. This is one of my Dayton favorites. You will enjoy.
